He's a great fit for the part. I don't think it would change much.

I don't see it as mattering at all.
People bitched and moaned when Bond was played by a blonde guy. They'd get over him being black.
Yeah there are so many different iterations of bonds, I really dont see black bond being a problem.
I mean they let George Lazenby do it.
Cmon.
Are you implying On Her Majesty's Secret Service was a bad movie? Or a bad Bond? The guy was an amateur coming off Connery making the role his own and still managed to outdo much of Roger Moore's crap.
Too bad he made a huge mistake betting against the franchise.
As for black/white/indian Bond? Can we get a good Bond movie again? Spectre was mediocre.
Lazenby was great and so was Moore, who was the original choice. They were just given cheese roles and Lazenby felt like Bond would define him and didn't want that (although his agent told him he was nuts).
OHMSS was awful. I will argue about this forever.
Yeaaaaaaaaaah, just gonna agree to disagree then.
OHMSS is a solid Bond outing with one of the best Blofelds. Telly Savalas crushed it. Piz Gloria ski chase crushed it. Fantastic Bond girl in Diana Rigg. Meaningful ending, holds up pretty well etc.
Definitely better than the following two movies: Connery's worst in Diamonds are Forever and the exploitation mess that is Live and Let Die. It's better than at least half a dozen other Bond movies in my book.
I don't know man, I feel like the only reason people are changing their mind is the way the franchise has shifted towards being much more serious in the last few movies. (Thanks Mike Myers)
Watching that movie and the ones that surround it is like night and day.
I'm just saying that in the spirit of Bond movies until Craig took over, it doesn't fit with the series at all.
And I'm saying it doesn't need to to be a good movie. You can argue about whether or not it was a good Bond movie for its time, but thats a separate argument.
I also think it was a bad movie in general, was trying to frame my argument. I think Lazenby was a barely adequate actor for the big screen and the writing is mediocre.
I will get back to you on that after I see it ^_^
It's decent. It's B movie quality but one of the better stories.
there's so many OTHER less then adequate bond movies and you choose to complain about OHMSS? that movie was way better then Quantum of Solace, I also prefered it slightly to a view to a kill, but that's my personal opinion.
