Someone had to test it, glad it wasn't me though, I'm sure he has zero problem obtaining another claw/hide though, and it's not like beits aren't literally littering the ground, so nothing really wasted.
WSDMG +5% on Sandung (thf dagger) works in off-hand!
Then I guess this makes Sandung not as terrible as it first seemed.
Can anybody post any better, bigger pic of Aettir? (RUN Gswd)
Clarion call placeholder only in effect when clarion buff is up. Daurb song placeholder is only in effect when you equip the instrument.
with 0 dummy songs and clarion call active, if you do this:
ghorn x3 -> dharp x2 = 5 songs
ghorn x2 -> dharp x3 = 5 songs
ghorn x2 -> dharp x2 -> ghorn = 4 songs
So unless you can equip both instrument at the same time. It makes sense that it doesn't work. lol
mmm.... actually it does.
4 Daurd songs -> 1 G-horn song with Clarion Call up gives you 4 songs instead of 5, which indicates there isn't some unique "placeholder" system with slots designated for each potential source of additional songs. If you want to get even more specific, every single instrument gives "Grants one additional song effect" (except Daurd and this new harp, which give +2-3), but swapping between them doesn't get you dozens of songs.
It was totally reasonable to write that test off before it was done, but it's not like the harp is hard to make (and it's better than Level 90 Daurd because it doesn't have duration+), so who cares!
I'm somewhat happy the new harp doesn't stack with old ones.
1) Stacking with Daur 90 => would have made dau99 semiuseless and seriously pissed off people who went through the very expensive upgrade process
2) Stacking with Daur 99 => Because 4 songs ain't broken enough, let's give em 5! Imagine the headaches of rotating 5 songs and pianissimoing them, 6 with Clarion Call, UINGH! Do not want.
It's a really nice way to make BRDs catch up.
Now I only wish they could make something to somehow slightly ease up the 90>99 process. I don't know how they could do it.
First of all there needs to be more plates/cinders on the market, so incentivating people to do more VWs might be one thing they have to do (reforged empy armor coming in june?)
But I honestly dream of something else happening. Like, dunno, being able to buy a fixed amount of plates/cinders with each conquest reset using Sparks/Aman vouchers/Cruor/Bayld or something like that?
Would increase the flow of that things of the market, and putting a weekly/daily limit on the amount you can buy would avoid turning it into an overflow.
Might be something cool for them to think about.
I was checking the notes and old ones(coz a friend said it was in the las update)and looks like the forgot to mention that they did fix the issue overwriting songs.
New songs overwrite it self if recasted no matter the time remaining.
New song overwrite the song with less duration if it's a new one.
So now don't really need a gearset for dummy songs. And increased time on dharp isn't an issues anymore.
Just start the fight with all TH gear on, inc old dagger, throw boomerang at mob, swap to better daggers/gear.
Your 1st proc of TH will be TH10.
TH is a myth anyway!

An upper limit has been set on the effects of Treasure Hunter.
Name: battle11.jpg Views: 10 Size: 57.7 KB
This adjustment has been made in light of the future introduction of equipment enhancing the effects of Treasure Hunter.
Upper limits of Treasure Hunter including the total of bonuses provided by equipment, atma, and job abilities.
Thief
Treasure Hunter +8
* The limit will be raised to +12 as normal when under the increased Treasure Hunter effects granted through thief autoattacks, Sneak Attack, Trick Attack, and the ranger ability Bounty Shot.
Non-thief jobs
Treasure Hunter +4
So no, your first proc cant go to 10.
Actually, it doesn't lol...
What you're stating is a basic confirmation bias because your test and evidence aren't accounting for the scenario we're pointing out. There are plenty of permutations that your scenario proves your hypothesis but equally plenty where it does not. The permutation that you did not consider is this:
Song Slots: A, B, C, D, E
Scenario:
Rule Normal: "Daurdabla will only add songs to D, E if A, B song slots are filled"
Rule Clarion: "Daurdabla will only add songs to D, E if A, B, C song slots are filled"
It is indeed a test that needed to be done and I'm sure others had value of this information.
