Hmm, that could be interesting. But for some fights I still feel like melee would be suicide.

I have a series of issues with this game.
Firstly, if we are on the moon and we have reduced gravity, why not use that to your advantage when it comes to level design? Why don't we have more vertical and varied environments. Right now low gravity feels like a gimmick and at worst a bug. If I try to double jump on top of a building the moment my character touches the building I lose all momentum and start falling. This is seriously fucking annoying. Especially coming from Destiny where you could glide and slide.
Secondly, I'm hating the level design and the way the vehicles handle on the moon. The vehicles seem to handle worse than borderlands 2, and the level design is really making it worse, why create a ramp that just runs straight into an obstacle? It's like they didn't even play the game.
Thirdly, this game is a lot buggier than borderlands 2. I'm getting stuck on the environment a lot more, enemies are completely locking up animations and stop responding. The big one in particular are the moon rakks. The vehicles for me seem to get stuck on fucking EVERYTHING.
Lastly, i'm starting my adventure as Athena, but the best weapons I have right now are a Shotgun and a Laser gun with ridiculous random spread. I can't score any critical hits without either being on top of the enemy or just getting lucky. This is contributing quite a bit with my frustration with the game. I'm having a hard time surviving encounters with Athena and the weapons i'm stuck using. This sucks because I might have a better experience playing as a character I have no interest in, but it defeats the purpose.
I think they should've play tested this some more to address these issues. Stuff like this could've been ironed out a long time ago.
yeah it is extremely buggy (have lost a lot of quest turnins due to items falling through the world, for example), and outside of a few areas/boss fights the verticality isn't used very well. they need to adjust the space physics (player jumps/interactions with the environment, loot and enemy physics*, etc.). Also, I don't know if it's just me but the maps in this one are ridiculously hard to make sense of compared to BL2.
Am really liking Athena. I'm not even fully juiced up on abilities yet but Aspis is pretty ridiculous. HP regen, nigh invulnerability (against everything, I haven't encountered any attacks that bypass the frontal shield), and some pretty nice single target damage (later on large AoE damage). I don't feel like most people are giving her more than like 5 levels to draw a conclusion, she's pretty damn strong and will only get better as the skill trees mature. Melee build looks even more amazing with bleed+dash mechanics.
*I HAVE LOST SO MUCH FUCKING LOOT AND SHIT BECAUSE IT GOES FLYING INTO SPACE OR GOES 600 MILES AWAY TO SOMEWHERE I CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO BACKTRACK TO OR CAN'T EVEN REACH.
I do disagree with you on one thing: Stingrays are fucking fun as hell to drive around, and the missile pod on the moon buggy is my favorite vehicle mounted weapon in BL to date. I personally found the speeders in Destiny pretty hard to control.
I concur that the weapon spread has been very limited so far (granted, I am only level 13). I also agree that this game is really buggy atm. 90% of my deaths are falling into lava because the vehicle jump wasn't fucking perfect. Annoying and frustrating.
Aside from that, I love everything else p. much.
Yeah the game does feel a bit like a hackjob and I have had my fair share of bugs and grips with the game's physics/level design. But yeah I just beat it as a level 25 Nisha.
Spoiler: show
It is a game developed almost solely by 2K. BioShock 2 was much the same.
Well, that'd explain a lot. I didn't like BioShock 2 all that much either.
first legendary, get! seems like a cryo version of the B!tch.
also this opens up another one of my complaints: most of the bosses in the game aren't repeatable. As such, me getting this thing to drop from the quest mob was complete fucking luck and the only way I could've farmed for it was alt-f4ing.
Nice. I still love my shotgun I got off Red Belly.
has anyone got to the RK5 fight yet? i feel as this game suffers from been an unenjoyable solo experience, 790 shields gets 1 shot by everything 1080hp 1-2 shot by everything, enemy hit boxes are about the size of a nipple and all flying enemy's are immune to damage, Weapon damage scaling is awful and boss fights are just stupid in terms of "oh we'll spawn a boss and 5 minions but everytime you kill 1 5 come in its place but don't forget your a paper bag!" i'm not sure if its because i'm play as Athena but this game seems awful to date this is the 2nd worst game i'be played after that Alien game Gearbox made![]()
i'm hoping the RK5 fight is the last boss because it seems like its meant to be, main problems with this fight are how laggy it is and when you try to sniper it your frame rate drops to about 3, not sure if that's a ps3 problem or a gearbox problem, also pissed off about how this is meant to be a run and gun game with how bad hit boxes are and how long you don't survive :/
it's not the last boss, but it's the only one I've found to be unfair so far. most of his attacks are almost undodgeable (wtf that one where he shoots like 60 homing missiles). i've died maybe a dozen times to him. thinking about joining a random online game to clear the fight, dealing with adds and the boss's shit one shot mechanics alone is stupid.
and while I can appreciate the smaller numbers when it comes to player scaling (weapon damage, HP, and shields in BL2 got absurd, at OP8 you actually hit damage cap), when the monsters don't seem to follow the same rules it isn't really too fair. even an NQ bandit can take down my shields and half my health in 1 shot. I didn't realize I was playing dark souls.
let's not even talk about dahl snipers
Finished all missions tonight. Now to do TVHM once I get some of my other backlog done.
And yeah, the Rk5 fight is complete bullsh*t.
Rk5 did suck, but I will say this game's final boss is leagues better then the Warrior. I really enjoyed the final fight. I started as Claptrap, and while he is very fun; I've been doing Nisha with a friend. Holy hell does she get strong. She starts off kind of weak but I'm only level 15 but the synergy her Riflewoman tree has and the dps it provides is insane.
So has anyone found or heard of any raid bosses other than the one you quest after beating the game?
