They will finish the current arc, but not the overall story.

They showed Laconia, Cara and Xan in the opening so they are leaving it on the table to be continued. Like the first episode is even called Strange Dogs and that isn't really part of the current arc. I just started the ep though so I don't know how much more they are gonna show

Yeah I believe they've already stated that while the show is ending they're still leaving the door open.

iirc the whole reason Amazon picked up the show was because Bezos is a massive fan so it's possible he'll still want it to come back in some capacity in the future.

that honestly was probably fine. They do so much crazy flying, it seemed like a statistical anomaly it didn’t happen in the book, and I’m guessing it wasn’t done off screen like Johnson. And it wasn’t like he contributed much to the story by this point aside from driving the ship , which I suppose is an important thing lol

Dude IDK If I'm an anomaly here but both how they killed him and the few seconds of dialogue acknowledging it made me absolutely positive this was a "Actor wanted more pay/did something bad/wanted out" death. immediately after watching the episode I googled the Actor to find out if i was right, sure enough I learned about the controversy surrounding him (which of course, made me realize that yah, they killed his ass to get him out of the show).

It was lore realistic of course but it still stuck out like a sore thumb that it was a last minute/written in death because of real-world stuff, and not something that was part of the books.

Plus they digitally edited him out of the epilogue portion of the final S5 episode. Those scenes had some odd cinematography when you realize he was filmed in those scenes at that party on Luna.

I’m guessing you have not read the books. This is going to be a book spoiler, about something that didn’t happen in the show. Well, the outcome is the same, it’s just how it’s accomplished. (Tv did it better)

Alex’s death is how Fred Johnson dies in the book. And if I recall it’s not even shown. It’s just “Fred’s dead. Too many Gs stroked him out.”

absolutely, but what can you do. an internal investigation by the production studio found 30 different allegations of sexual harassment and assault made against him. an Expanse crewmember even provided the receipts with 200 (!) sexually harassing messages he sent her over years of filming.

recast was the other option. dunno mighta been better. hard for most fans to square it tho.

I can't put my finger on if it's the writing or the acting or both, but show Naomi is insufferable to me. Always some combination of whining or pouting. One of the few characters I think they get wrong

I didn't read the books but I agree with your opinion on Naomi. She's a very annoying character.

Good episode. Seems like a lot to wrap up in 6 episodes but I'm excited to see where it goes
