sucks. i can see taxing australia because it's risky going there what with all the wildlife trying to kill you, but you'd think middle earth would be safer.

Taxes, regulations, distribution costs, knowing that there's not much other option and exploiting that, etc.; Australia gets fucked based on these things, mostly. Australia is the workhorse/money bleed of the commonwealth.
