They didn't do anything after game 2 when Richards decided to spear someone. I guess gotta keep it consistent =/

LOOOOOOOOL
I would celebrate big too if that was my first ever OT goal of my career
Encouraging to see the Wings play well, unfortunate that the loss means they probably won't get to play many more games until the fall.
Zetterberg is back and they didn't play like shit like they did in game 3 though
Rask Bishop Varlamov for Vezina
Can't believe Varlamov was nominated over Price.
Price's injury didn't help
Games played leaders
1 Kari Lehtonen DAL 65
2 Marc-Andre Fleury PIT 64
3 Antti Niemi SJS 64
4 Semyon Varlamov COL 63
5 Ben Bishop TBL 63
6 Henrik Lundqvist NYR 63
7 Mike Smith PHX 62
8 Steve Mason PHI 61
9 Carey Price MTL 59
10 Corey Crawford CHI 59
11 Ryan Miller BUF, STL 59
12 Tuukka Rask BOS 58
Rask played less than Price, and Bishop also missed a couple games to injury. So I'd hope thats not a deciding factor.
The numbers say its going to go to Rask, but considering the players infront of Varlamov (mostly all 18-22 year olds) are nowhere near what Rask has (strong defense minded team), Varlamov should get the nod.
not enough french canadians were doing the nominations obviously.
I think Rask should end up with it. The guy has become like the perfect textbook goalie.
lol no, just his game on the ice.
It'll be close, but I still see Rask taking the prize.
presuming that means games won:
Habs were shut out 6 times this year, with 1 1-0 game, and 2 2-0 games (neither of these were empty net goals either). Thats hardly on the goalie. 20 times this year, the habs scored 1 goal. Of those 20 games, the habs won 2, both in OT. They also lost 3 in OT and 1 in SO. So thats 26 games out of 82 where the only way the habs were getting to win was by recording a shutout.
Lets compare this to boston:
Boston was shut out once this year, in a 2-0 game, where the opposition scored an empty netter. 7 times Boston scored 1 goal (ironically, three of them were against the habs), they lost 4, won 2 in a shootout, and won 1 due to a shutout. So 8 games out of 82 was the Boston goalie placed in a winning position that they DIDNT have to be perfect just to win.
Avs:
shut out once
14 1 goal games (won 1 in regulation, won 1 in OT, and lost another 3 in OT/SO)
15 games where goalie had to be perfect to win
Bolts:
shut out 6x (all before mid december actually, no wins)
11 1 goal games (1 win by shootout, thanks caps, 3 losses by OT/SO)
17 games where goalie had to be perfect to win
*I did NOT look at who was goalie in these games, I dont have that much time on my hands.
If the habs offence wasnt so anemic at times, and the goalie didnt have to be perfect 26 times out of 82 just to win, price may have had more than 34 wins.
Actually I just checked and the habs won an 2 additional games 2-1 in shootout, so thats 2 more 1 goal games (one was against boston tho so it was probably Budaj). Either way, thats 28 games out of 82 where the habs scored 1 goal or less in regulation. Thats NOT on the goalie, at all, and these are not games where the goalie is in a position to win.
That's like saying "this baseball pitcher has a 1.50 ERA, but he's got more losses than wins so he's terrible and unreliable".
Right, blame the goalie only when it's MAF amirite?

You hate Boston, we get it.
