Looks like trailblazers have a few widespread problems.

All auto stores will scan for free. Don't need an appointment.

Homey don't ever fork over anything higher than a couple hundred bones if the mechanic can't tell you what's wrong with it. They robbed you blind son. That's the type of shit that if they were an AAR facility for AAA they'd lose their accreditation.

Yeah I'll admit they did, but I also had a 6.5 hour drive later the week so I thought "screw it, if it keeps me from being stranded on the road" it's better safe than sorry.

Just got back and these are the results of scanner:

ABS
C0281: Stop Lamp Switch Circuit

C0265: Electronic brake control module motor relay circuit

Not sure what the relay circuit communicates with, but that seems to be the best lead I got for now. I have a friend that thinks it could be the alternator to though.

My Matrix had random stalling problems exactly like that too. Turns out my dealership are complete fucking morons and "forgot" about the recall about replacing the engine control module. Replaced oxygen sensor twice, reset board computer 4 times and replaced some part they needed a specialist to come and install.

OP: If you put those codes you got into the forum listed above for your vehicle, you will more than likely get to the bottom of this pretty quickly.

Alternator is a relatively cheap fix if your friend can do it for you.

ignition switches in early 2000's GM products are notorious - just do a quick google on the problems associated with "Chevrolet Trailblazer Shutting Off Randomly"

Bad alternator is usually pretty obvious 99.9% of time, because your battery will be dead and you wouldn't get far on a jump start.
edit: Your codes are for your braking system, those circuits communicate from the pedal to your electronic brake system. Faulty connection could be bad, but shouldn't be related to the shutoff problem.

Just a rule of thumb with mechanical issues, nothing is "random" so pay attention to what the car does before it stalls, listen for noises, fluctuation is the engine, etc. Most folks have their radios turned up too loud and never look at their gauges then they end up paying $910 for ignition coils they didn't need.

Is the car sitting for an extended period before it shuts off? this could be an period as long as it is a full stop. Or is it shutting off as you are stopping?

However electrical issues such as with ignitions or crank sensors are just insta cutout dead in the water.

Chevy is really the worst at recalls, fixes, and warranty issues. Can't recommend anything by them or Audi for fresh off the warranty unless you're knowledgeable.
