From what I understand, they work on Firefox because Mozilla allows access to the parts of the browser that makes doing so possible.

Since part of Google's business is ad revenue (and user data), the parts of Chrome relating to those things is not as open, so while there may be a Chrome Adblock and the like, they are versions that have essentially had Kathy Bates take a sledgehammer to them.
