Q was more of a nuisance than a villain.

They better not do Borg. That just doesn't work in the movies.

A more villainous take on Q would certainly work though. And in any case, while "villain" might be out of place to call Q, "antagonist" works. And a god-powered "nuisance" can easily fill that role.

I think part of what made Q so popular was his banter and interactions with Picard. Someone can correct me since I didn't watch a past the second season of Voyager, but I don't think Janeway and Q were as entertaining. To just throw a character as complex as Q with no real history into this new franchise would fall flat.

Janeway and Q were actually pretty entertaining since the two are good friends in real life, so they had nice chemistry.

I have no idea what species that is lol. I'm afraid what this movie is doing if thats suppose to be a Borg? Now I'm wondering when we'll have more information on this movie... hope its soon.

I completely forgot this comes out this summer. I'm excited. As someone who never watched Star trek (the original series, ie anything prior to the first JJ Abrams movie), I liked the first one and thought Into Darkness had some pretty awesome sequences, which is really all I ever expect from movies like this.

Light me up if you want, but I'm looking forward to this.

I'm sure it'll be a good enough movies, like the first two, but they haven't been "Star Trek" to me yet, just action flicks.

Its not really a bad thing, tbh, just how I feel. Neither of them felt like Star Trek to me in any way but aesthetics. I wouldn't call either of them bad though, some cheese moments but mostly real good.

I'd have to agree. Probably more hyped for this than any other movie this summer now. Although that's a pretty low bar at this point.
