    This era Laptop purchase

Hello so i purchased a Valkirie cz27 from ibuypower about 1 year and a half ago, was quite powerfull at the time, 16gb of ram nvidia gtx675m 4gbs, ssd etc etc. But about 6 months ago my video card died, idk if it was heat or what, i got blue screen of death, i tested afther and i got this screen even at 66 grades wich is not supose to be hot enough for the card to have problems.

Anyways im looking to purchase another laptop in the range of 1.5-2k dollards, i want it to be powerfull enough, i do some gaming like ff14 arr and i do video editing, i was looking at ibuypowers laptops for this era and they look amazing for their price but i already have the bad flavor and sorta scare ill pay that much just to have a main component die in a year or less, so im looking for advice on a good laptop that is not more than 2k dollards.

I travel a lot thats why im looking for a laptop i dont like laptops that overheat for nothing ( i had a hp before that for just playing hd videos wold get wayyyy too hot) i have seen some new models of laptops that are really really thin but im sort of scare that those wold get super hot if i do some heavy gaming or do a big render.

Any tips wold be apreciated thank you.

I recommended this http://www.msi.com/product/nb/GS70_S....html#overview to http://www.bluegartr.com/members/31766-Grieverbk and he seems to be having good results with it despite my cooling worries; though it might've been from earlier builds. It's a thin and powerful laptop, you might want to PM him to see how he thinks.

Companies like ibuypower dont actually build their own laptops, they purchase pre-built ones and brand them with their own logos

the stig is on the right track though, MSI makes some solid machines, would be a good purchase, you can also very likely replace the video card in your old one or the card itself might be under warranty if you RMA directly to the manuf (unless it only came with a year warranty)
most top end video cards in laptops are removable. if you are really pushing a system though, a desktop is a much cheaper and considerably more powerful choice

You could check out www.dell.com/outlet and look for some of the new Alienware machines... Typically way over priced but through the Outlet you can get some good deals. iv owned 2 over the years from the UK Outlet and was able to get the back story / reason for return and half the time it is because of delivery delays / customer issues where payment isnt made so they tend to be brand new.. They just dont come in the retail packaging...

Should be some of the new generation Alienwares released late last year starting to make an appearance. Alienware 14 now support 1920 x 1080 which is nice for the size.

There should be a "Chat To Me Now" option as well. Typically agents are based in India but they may be able to do some additional discount on it if you press hard. Typically only 10-15% as there is normally already 30% off these systems. BUt worth a try.

Follow the post format in the sticky and make a thread - they go into great detail and will find you something that suits you perfectly. Not to mention, they'll also find you the best place to buy it. They recommended me a canadian site which was over $100 cheaper on final cost with free shipping to US.

I'm personally going with either a Clevo W230SS/W350SS or grabbing the Lenovo Y50 when it drops.
