A total of 271 Russian athletes have been cleared to take part in the Rio Olympics, Alexander Zhukov, president of the Russian Olympics Committee, told reporters in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday.
The International Olympic Committee confirmed the number in a statement issued in the evening.
The news means 118 competitors of the 389-strong Russian team have been banned from competing in Rio.

West coast US won't get to see this until 7:30pm local, which is about 90 min from now. That right there is a huge joke if the time difference is so negligible. Gotta milk that stupid prime time audience. And I have no interest in watching it if it isn't live.

Ah I see. There's little choice here for us as coverage started at midnight. I went along with it thinking it might be some sort of fantastic show.

BBC probably shows it live. NBC will never show it live unless it lands on prime time. I'm already expecting tape delayed bullshit for nearly everything unless you're watching the events live on the NBC's family of cable networks. Otherwise, plebs that are stuck with broadcast get a USA tape delayed show that will be primarily a) Swimming b) Track & Field c) Gymnastics d) things USA have a chance to medal in. Most of the content will already be spoiled on the internet by the time I see it on NBC's broadcast.

I want to watch some fencing, indoor volleyball, and archery damn it. Too bad I will be too lazy to find it.
