the point being when this game was coming out people asked me which tank to level and i instinctively said "WAR was the better tank in 1.23 sooooooo" and then they all quit when they got to 50 and WAR was dogshit in 2.0

Speed runs all day every day made it pretty well redundant how little damage a PLD took because Steel Cyclone was retarded (and having to level up your shield skill separately was some buuuuuuuuuullllllshiiiiiiiittt). The only thing anyone ever sort of wanted PLD for was Darnus HM.

Sorry, let me rephrase: GLA was far from useless because they didn't take damage and speedruns didn't exist (neither did PLD or WAR at that point).

I don't even remember anyone using MRD tanks at that time, so I guess that means MRD was "useless" as a tank. Then again, since MRD could equip all the same DD actions as PGL and LNC, it wasn't quite as important.

I didn't see the stream, so I may be wrong, but did they outright deny the possibility of Shiva in 2.3? I think it would actually be pretty nice to wrap up primals in this patch, then we could start moving more towards Ascians directly in 2.4 as we set up for the 2.5 or 2.6 finale.

This patch is not named after any direct reference to Ramuh, when 2.2 only had a single primal, the patch was named after him.
There is, thus far, only one trial for the patch. In the past live letters, they announced all the trials in the same live letter. Unless they plan on it being the only new endgame content, they definitely have something up their sleeve.

Originally I thought Shiva and Ramuh were supposed to be coming in the same patch, but they've said nothing about anything besides Ramuh yet. The poster is interesting though, maybe we'll hear more at E3

Well they said that Ramuh fight is in 2.3 even if Shiva fight isnt in 2.3 I don't see why the storyline can't have Shiva in it. Seeing as shes the only primal that hasn't been mentioned at this point they should probably start building her up or least acknowledge she has appeared. If I remember right expansion is going to be based on Ishguard vs dragons? Since those two forces seem to be at a stalemate atm something like Shiva or Garlean intervention only things I can think currently that would upset the balance enough to force Ishguard to call adventurers and other nations for aid.

I -hope- the expansion....expands on the whole dragons thing and what exactly they.....are? Where they come from, what their nature/purpose is, etc.

Especially in relation to Midgardsormr and what exactly he was (he's not a primal, we know that much). We also know Nidhogg's somewhere out there too.

Their presence has certainly been set up to be more than just generic monstrous enemies, I just hope they actually take it somewhere interesting.

I'm sure they said a while back that they are adding one primal per patch from 2.2. Sure they added Thornmarch extreme too but that wasn't a new primal. They will probably add a hard mode for the Gilgamesh fight with an i100 drop. Just speculation of course but it makes sense.

Fenrir better bring the pain....unlike Diablos. I guess they could still make an EX Diablos.

The FF world is so big its fun watching the directions they take the game and which mobs get Boss status etc. A land of dragons would be cool. Nidhogg needs his own expansion with Tiamat and Vrtra being extremely hard side bosses. Crystal Dragon fight for 14 would be epic as well.

Fenrir is a grey are for sure hes only shown or mentioned in a single piece of concept art as far as I know. Only reason we even know Shiva is a primal is because of Yoshi stated a fight with her was coming down the line and the promo poster. Maybe SE doesn't plan to keep making Primals a "thing" after expansion? Gonna run out of beastmen tribes to summon and areas they inhabit inside of Erozea eventually. Story wise we know that theres Primals outside of Erozea and theres still whatever the deal is with Elder Primal(s) but eventually the situation with Primals will need to calm a bit as story focuses on new matters. Since "classic" summons/primals are a finite resource I would assume if they planed to keep adding Primal trials in the future they wouldn't squander potential like the 3 mentioned above and Fenrir on dungeons.

I don't get why I have seen some people say they were disappointed by how Shiva looks. The first thing I thought when a friend linked me the image was "Holy shit" cause she looks so ominous and powerful.
