Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne will be available for PlayStation 3 via the PS2 Classics selection on PlayStation Network today.

Atlus teased a new PlayStation Network Shin Megami Tensei release today on Reddit yesterday, and an ESRB rating this morning confirmed it to be Nocturne.

Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne is the third main entry in the Shin Megami Tensei series. It first launched for PS2 in Japan in February 2003. An updated version called Nocturne Maniax, on which the western release is based, launched in 2004. In 2008, a final version, Nocturne Maniax Chronicle, launched in Japan, featuring Raidou Kuzunoha from the Devil Summoner series in place of the game’s original guest character Dante (from Devil May Cry).

TOO BAD MOTHERFUCKER.

Buy this game if you have a PS3. It's the most highly regarded SMT game for a reason.

Nocturne is an incredible game for a long list of reasons. The atmosphere in particular is unlike that found in pretty much anything else I've ever played.

Goddamn all the divine punishment for getting cool games for EU PS+ in the past.

I actually have a copy of this still. I got stuck and gave up. But still, some of the boss music fucking ROCKED

still have it on PS2, and probably won't have time to play through it again in the foreseeable future, but buying it anyway because it's nocturne and i feel like throwing them ten bones just for how magnificent this game is

hmm i still play this on my laptop sometimes, long lost my ps2, but may pick it up for ps3. well worth $10.

I would prefer DDS in the US myself. Nocturne isn't a bad game, but I've never been a huge fan of what I think of as Pokemon style parties, with disposable party members. I just prefer a small roster I can switch out and use for the entire game.

any report of how this plays emulated on ps3? i'd heard some of the other ps2 persona games had slowdowns and graphical glitches.
