I still feel like this is Michael Bay's original TMNT script but revived for the Power Rangers. They're really trying to push the whole alien thing as hard as they can.

It is. It was never the focus cause kids show and all, but power rangers started as a "look what we found on mars/moon oh shit it's a genie in the bottle named Rita", at least in American version. To say they're focusing too much on aliens is like saying they're focusing too much on Godzilla in a Godzilla movie lol.

It was, but the levels they're taking it to in order to make everything look alien (Zords, Costumes, Alpha-5) is just insane.

I was so upset with Chronicle just because it started out so compelling then became a victim of its own story.

Really? I thought the story was fantastic from beginning to end. It was an extremely well-thought out script with several deep and profound themes throughout the story. It wasn't your typical cheesy happy-go-lucky super hero movie despite it's seemingly cheesy ideas on paper. Definitely one of the more pleasant surprises in movies at that time.

The only legitimate complaint I've ever heard about it was that the whole "found footage" angle isn't everyone's cup of tea.

I loved the found footage part. O thought the ending fight went overboard with it.

I liked Chronicle but I could have liked it more if it went the District 9 route and ditched the found footage thing half way through. You can still have the characters obsessed with filming but can tell it from not a crappy angle or have a dumb reason to always be filming themselves
