    Why that music..?

In any case, it looks nice? Assuming that's actual combat and not just cgi. Looks like they're bringing back weapons and stage obstacles.

    We'll see.

Yeah, music made me cringe, but otherwise a cool trailer.

    Spoiler: show

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announced Mortal Kombat X, NetherRealm Studios’ next highly anticipated installment in its legendary, critically acclaimed fighting game franchise that propels the iconic franchise into a new generation. Mortal Kombat X is scheduled for release in 2015 for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 computer entertainment systems, Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, the Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft and PC. Mortal Kombat X will make its first public appearance at Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2014 in Los Angeles.

“Mortal Kombat is our acclaimed, world-renowned franchise and we are now advancing the fighting genre with Mortal Kombat X,” said Martin Tremblay, President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “NetherRealm Studios is best in class at delivering games fans love and they are taking their iconic brand to the next level with Mortal Kombat X."

“Mortal Kombat has always been about over-the-top, visceral fighting and with Mortal Kombat X we wanted to utilise the power of new-gen consoles to give players our most intense game yet,” said Ed Boon, Creative Director, NetherRealm Studios. “The team has worked hard to make sure Mortal Kombat X delivers everything fans expect along with new characters, new game modes and an all new graphics engine.”

9 was a fairly decent return to MK after the series went out of control. wonder what they plan to change with this one.

betting good money that was just a CGI trailer, it might have been done in a significantly tweaked game engine, but its unlikely that is what actual gameplay will look like, and even if it does it will very likely not launch with that style of graphics (like watchdogs). it should be good but yeah, hopefully they dont try to fix what isnt broken, fighting games are always better when the basics remain intact and you dont get too convoluted

It needs hit confirms, no block button, no run button, walking speed increased, and not terrible models. They nailed the storyline mode in 9, so I expect that to be worth a purchase by itself. I'll check it out!!

It looked like a pretty consistent string of reversals during that video, makes me thinking they're gonna go full retard DOA style and have a straight up counter button.

Yes, yes, yes, eh..., I thought the models were ok.

Agreed. The storyline made it worth the buy.

What do you mean by "need hit confirms?" MK9 got so much right, I hope they don't screw with the formula too much.

was never a fan of mortal kombat,
char design not my thing of that game
besides i prefer a game that has worse graphic but doesnt have chars moveing around/getting hit like they have 3 sticks up their asses. The character movement/hits/moves etc look very shit compared to japanese fighting games usually.

They need Japanese fighting style hit confirms in the game; MK is "dial-a-combo" which means whether your initial attack hits or is blocked that you basically do the same string regardless. Most FGC type of players hate this type of thing.
