It doesn't matter if the judge strictly says they are veggy only and the idiot doesn't listen to Leslie who reiterates it multiple times lol.

    Oh well.
    Spoiler: show
I was sad for Christian, since it seemed like he'd be out and he wasn't really at fault in the team challenge. But it was a surprise to see Jaimee bungle it, though considering the dish, it's not as bad a fail as Elise.
But I do think the red team should have been in the elimination. Blue team just needed to self sort out the lead, but Ramsay had to pull Cutter and Leslie out twice. One of them should have been the one to go.

Gordon also had to intervene with Jaimee because she is a mute, they couldn't even get a damn appetizer out, and they switched captains twice. So if you are using team functioning as part of your grading, I don't think the blue team was any better.

I was about to be pissed if Christian went home though. Jaimee needed to go, Cutter MUST go next. Elizabeth, Christian, Courtney, and Leslie would be the best final 4.

I don't think I would have been surprised with either team being in the bottom, and I expected either Jaimee or Cutter as going home. I was surprised it was on this kind of challenge, but

this. I really don't want to see any more of Cutter.. I guess he makes for good TV? I have a hard time watching someone that aggressive/mean personally.

Jaimee suffers with Dystonia btw, I can only imagine how hard it is for her to speak up all the time, but during that one challenge where she was teamed up Leslie she was yelling at him like a mofo! lol

I do agree, Cutter needs to go next.

Elise claims to be an expert in pies. Fucks up making pies.

Dan claims to be an expert in Chinese. Fucks up dumplings.

Jamie claims to be an expert in baking. Fucks up Croquembouche.

Never claim to be an expert in anything on this show.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

Soon as I saw what they were making, I was like "Jamie's out" just because of this.

Think I am going to root for Christian to win at this point.

Are they going to bring someone back like in previous seasons?

I think this season we've see contestants break down on the mental level due to various cooking challenges/pressures than previous seasons combined. Really sad to see Jamie pass the leader baton to Courtney who then also cracks and passes it to Christian. Hoping to see Cutter get the boot next week and then we can have a showdown between 4 really talented cooks. I am still going to root for Leslie but as weeks have gone by I really respect Christian and would be excited to see him win too.

    Word, Cutter can kindly gtfo.

I wasn't sure that I wanted Christian to win it all until this episode. He's always been a great cook but he put it down in the challenge. After hearing/seeing other people's reactions to the intensity of a kitchen, he was the ONLY one who got my respect. I know they're "Home Cooks" but all three ladies flat out said "I can't do this" while Leslie and Cutter got frazzled and just starting yelling for reasons.

I said it before and I'll say it again, I love Jaimee's weirdness but of those three, she had gots to go.

Also, I use "weirdness" as a term of endearment... brb Google'n Dystonia.

I'm surprised that more people aren't falling flat on some of the challenges in this season. Like on the last challenge, what exactly do you do if you can't make a profiterole? A croquembouche isn't something you can just wing.

Two men in the final :O? But yeah, people have been breaking down pretty damn hard. Blue team had 0 chance of winning by having 3 team captains. Hell, even Courtney sucked ASS during the challenge.

I'm hoping Elizabeth makes the finals along with either Leslie or Christian. She's been pretty consistent from what I remember. I can't really think of any/many times she's messed up.

They give these guys lessons on stuff. They get recipe books ahead of time to try to practice out of, and I've heard there are even some lessons given on set on particularly challenging dishes. These guys don't all know baking ratios and pasta ratios and everything else by heart.

Yeah, Masterchef is equal parts reality-cooking TV show and crash-course-in-other-stuff for the contestants. That never makes TV, but one of the cooler people from Season 2? 3? (It was the woman that the judges always got her name wrong; She was the one who was unable to decapitate the lobsters in one of the mystery box challenges) had a blog that she posted in alongside the season. There's a lot of hands-on stuff and she said that anytime someone says "I've never made a ____ in my life" that it's an outright lie and they were given instructions on how to make it that week before the challenge.

My personal theory is that they're given a series of things all at once to keep the challenge a "mystery" but within a certain wheelhouse. Wouldn't be surprised if they got a pastry week right before the doughnut challenge, where they learned to do doughnuts and muffins and cupcakes and everything like that just to keep them on their toes.

It's like any other tv, particularly reality tv, they have a lot of behind the scenes stuff. Iron Chef's "mystery ingredient" isn't a complete mystery either, they're given a list of 5 possible ingredients 6 months ahead of time to plan out menus, then on the reveal they go with that set. They don't magically come up with 5 courses out of nowhere.

If you had told me months ago I'd root for Leslie to win an elimination challenge, I wouldn't believe you. Good riddance Cutter.

I do hope Leslie gets eliminated first next week though.

I don't know about your 2nd statement. The person really grew on me. But yeah I skipped the cooking part and jumped to the results because I couldn't wait anymore.
