    Pax Prime 2014 (Aug 29-Sept 1)

I didn't see a thread? 4 day sale passes were sold out by the time I got through the queue, but I managed to get all 4 days single passes, which came to $30 more.

Ironic thing is, this year is the only year I managed to grab tickets, and I don't think I'll be able to go (will be in Europe).

Allegedly people on the PAX Fan Club list or some shit were given early access to four-day passes. Haven't seen anything other than a screengrab and it's unreliable, but the cynic in me wants to believe it.

    Spoiler: show

I got 4x Fri-Mon passes. 4 days were already sold out by the time I made it through the queue.

Yeah, ClubPA members got first crack. But if East is any indication, their numbers represent less than 1% of total attendees.

Yeah lol. If you read that email, and it's been confirmed via a PAX forum mod from his inquiry to higher management, it's just a single 4day pass that's non-transferable. And according to a stat they released last year, only 2% of bought PAX Prime badges go for the full 4 cap amount.

The loudest whiners are ones who still don't understand PAX has reached basically Comic-Con levels of demand.

For those who have been to any of the various PAX events, is it really that enjoyable to warrant this "sold out in the first 30 seconds" rush that we've seen as of late?

This is approaching boy band concert levels of sale speed.

I've gone every year to Prime since '08. Last year only for one day unfortunately. It's well worth it IMO. There's just too much to do. This year I'm planning on attending at least one panel and/or a concert.

Plus, Seattles just a beautiful city.

It really depends on how much of the content excites you, and, as bluefan said, there's a metric fuck ton of things you can do. Aside from ticket announcements of/purchasing tickets, everything is done really well too. Seattle is a great city to visit, so most out of town people will have some other things to do to get a break from everything. I live here, so usually doing an evening stay, in downtown Seattle, I can see anything I want on any two days of Friday/Saturday/Sunday, but this year, we only got three Monday passes, so I'll probably skip this year, unless something can be worked out.

Scalpers always outside. Enforcers always lurking too so before you buy you can have one verify its legit. I've seen most scalpers go $20-40 above face value. Later hours though those single passes get pretty cheap lol.

Attendees will get the first look at Game 4
What’s this?? Game 4 is upon us!!

Shortly before the release of BattleBlock Theater we started working on something new. We schemed up a bunch of concepts and picked our strongest one. From there we fleshed out the lone survivor prototype!!! As it grew stronger and stronger, we polished it, furnished it with delights, and added (gluten free?) sprinkles. Yes, as the chicken dictates, this game is of a genre we haven’t covered before and seek to breathe a new flavor into. Maybe you can find a hint in the video below about which genre it is??

What we’ve ended up with is something we are all very proud of. I am confident you’ll get a kick out of this one. So we’ve decided to bring it to PAX Prime — and you can play it! As usual we’ll want your feedback to steer the process. I cannot wait to show you guys what we’ve got!

Until that time, please enjoy the introduction video to this grand and mysterious adventure………. Stay tuned for more info at PAX Prime Booth 3003!!!

should call it Saint's Row Definitive Remastered Edition but be an actual brand new game
(shouldn't actually because it would be hard to market/sell it, but i can dream)
GAF joking it should skip straight to SR6

The Last Story 2 teased for Wii U & PS4
The legendary creator of Final Fantasy Hironobu Sakaguchi spoke at a panel today at PAX Prime, and he gave a few interesting details on his plans on his wishes for the future.

Sakaguchi-san mentioned that it would be nice to be able to work on a continuation of Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey or The Last Story, but there is nothing going on behind the scenes about that for the moment. That said a sequel of Blue Dragon would be a challenge, as the first draft of that story wasn’t accepted by Akira Toriyama.

Asked if there was a chance to see a new The Last Story game , Sakaguchi-san answered in English “Ok, yeah, you talk to Nintendo.”

Then the moderator of the panel asked who in the audience would want to see a sequel of The Last Story on Wii U, and while the audience cheered and applauded, Sakaguchi-san added, again in English, “And maybe PlayStation 4 too?”

Square turned down plans to turn Chrono Trigger into a series
The legendary creator of Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger designer Hironobu Sakaguchi spoke at a panel today at PAX Prime, and he revealed a bit of backstory about the plans for a sequel of the adventure of Chrono.

According to Sakaguchi-san, he and the development team wanted to continue Chrono Trigger as a series like Final Fantasy and develop a proper sequel, but they didn’t see eye to eye with Square’s upper management. He explained that he fought for it, but lost the battle, so in the end it never happened.
