So what are they going to bring that dragoons and monks don't? Slashing damage? Debuffs? Do they get a ninja storm's path/storm's eye/foe req? Superior melee aoe dps?

Yeah, I agree with that. Musketeer isn't out of the question yet though. He said Rogue and NIN were all they would confirm now and they'd be released for 2.4 but that there would be other jobs along with the expansion. What's the expansion on track for, 3months after 2.4? I can't remember any more.
What Prothescar said too, when NIN comes out there's going to be such a huge influx than que times are going to go to shit again and people will treat NIN like SMN when it was released. Hardly anyone wanted to take them because majority of the community had no idea how to play it and thought it was total garbage
perhaps i am not a sufficiently GREAT MMO MIND but i do not see how mudra mechanics don't ruin any potential the job would have had
ninja is a job that has to press three buttons to do things that every other job does by pressing one. since the job would be completely non-functional if mudras were on the GCD (rofl 7.5 second cast time on ninjutsu), they must be off them and therefore this job is going to be WAY more hectic and stupid than MNK even if you didn't have the potential for fucking your abilities by fatfingering the order.
in a fight with even moderately intense mechanics, you will almost certainly be better off ignoring ninjutsu entirely and just leaning on your basic GCD combos
Obviously unconfirmed, but I would imagine it would be a BLM-style DPS along with debuffs. With them saying that only certain abilities can be used under a "stealth" stance I'd imagine they would keep it like a real life Ninja and strike hard from the shadows. A superior physical burst damage as well as keeping up decently with a constant dps job like MNK or slightly behind them until ideal conditions
I guess you guys are all missing how strong enfeebles can be provided Ninja's are made a sufficient potency. They need to press more than one button (oh no, what ever shall we doooooooooooo), but get more from each ability as a result.
But if they make ninjas play out like invoker where i have to remember ~27 combinations of 3 hand signs AKA have to work 3x as hard for baseline DPS--SIGN ME UP.
Well obviously not, it would be fucking stupid to incorporate a DD job that's needed for every single event in the game, but it will hopefully have enough utility that it's as useful as other DD jobs in a similar spectrum of fights.
Don't really consider bard as irreplaceable for most fights, however it is necessary for a couple of endgame ones since the way this game's combat system works is pretty fucking awful and songs are required to circumvent that.
I'm gonna guess "stealth" is your monk stance and "not stealth" is your bard stance.
yeah, sure, but it kind of sounds like you want it both ways here, man
like, either successful execution of ninja's high skill bar (which is ZERO-SUM, you either execute or fail completely, cannot stress this enough) grants results that are bar-none superior to those provided by other jobs, or it doesn't, in which case the ninja's working dramatically harder (and subjecting himself to much higher risk of Mechanics) for no clear payoff. neither situation's good for the game
the only scenario where this works is if mudras trigger buffs/debuffs that last a REALLY long time, overwrite each other, and can't be resisted provided accuracy is high enough; that way the NIN can use his ninjutsu and then ignore it
of course if you only need to use mudras once every three minutes, they're a straight-up gimmick
(by the way as long as we're rappin' at each other the 3ds works great, thanks~)
Looking forward to miqo'te female + miqo'te female wedding >.>
Also, dat miqo'te rogue /fapfapfap
In the vid you see some kind of ninjutsu sign pop up and then the dude spits a block of ice at the peiste thing. I'd bet money it's paralyze. I think just having a debuffing job period is worth it, regardless if it is melee oriented or not
Not thrilled that we got a DPS job, but it is what it is.
