They're clearly saying that Primal and special weapons will have Rogue and Ninja versions.... which is exactly how ACN/SMN and SCH work right now.

1) "Rogue and ninja versions" could easily be talking about the same weapon, as in, "These twin blades are for rogue and ninja".
2a) The plurality of the word "weapons" could be referring to the fact that there is more than one primal, thus more than one weapon.
2b) The weapons themselves are dual blades. That alone could justify the plurality of the word.
3) This had to go through a translator.

They've already said Rogue is the Class and Ninja is the Job, it will be just like any other Job's primal weapons. Not sure why they would be different or anyone would think this would be the case.

1) Err, no. Unless the whole thing is mistranslated that is not what he's trying to say, at all.
2a)Yes there are more than one but why would they need to make Rogue versions if they could simply equip Ninja ones? Why even specify this if they're both going to use the same weapons anyway?

Because of that quote? Seems like Ninja is the Scholar of Rogue meaning they get their own unique set of weapons that cannot be equipped by the base class. Why is anyone's guess but it's likely related to stats. Primal weapons can be equipped by the base class.... unless it's a SCH book.

Yeah but there isn't right now. So they aren't gonna roll out weapons for a job that doesn't exist.

The only reason why SCH gets special weapon treatment is because the job serves a completely different role than the class it deviated from. Don't delude yourself into believing that NIN and ROG will get two separate weapons. It will be the same weapon for both class and job, and it will likely be some sort of knife instead of katana.

Given that we know NIN is a melee DPS, the only way NIN and ROG would have significantly different gear (including weapons) is if ROG were categorized as one of the following:

tank, physical ranged DPS, magic DPS, healer, or [completely new role that is none of the above]

This does not seem to be a likely outcome.

Jesus Christ. It's not that hard. Rogue and Ninja will, 99% sure, share weapons in the same way gladiator and paladin, marauder and warrior, etc, etc do. Everyone is hung up on ninja using katana while I imagine it will just use "dual knives" alongside rogue. The katana-skins will be used for relic.

It will likely equip the "light" looking DPS armor until DEX and STR start seperating on gear (level 45ish, iirc) at which point it will share gear with ARC/BRD since I believe they said ROG/NIN uses DEX. It will likely get as many job-specific items as every other job.
