Doubtful we'll see any kind of back pedaling, deal was likely completed before the announcement and I doubt SE is in the position to just give back however much money they were paid.

MS seems to be all spluttery about it going "WE DIDN'T SAY IT WAS A TIMED EXCLUSIVE" but also constantly sticking to the part about "launching inholiday 2015, exclusively on xbox" which seems odd. with the titanfall deal they were pretty upfront and said "exclusive for the life of the title" or whatever, so the obtuseness and specificity (and how much it would cost) make me think it is not permanent

Honestly I'm okay with Bayo 2 being Wii U only cause Nintendo but like an established franchise's reboot sequel is only going to be on one system. What was the point of the "definitive" edition on XB1 and PS4 then if the sequel is XB1 only?

Considering how underwhelming the QB gameplay reveal was, I am alright with TB being timed exclusive for holiday 2015 as I haven't used the Xbone system for 7 months. I need some games beside Halo5, and QB for next year(I don't give a fuck about the Xbone exclusive DLC with third party games).

Asked to clarify the specific terms of the Rise of the Tomb Raider deal, Spencer wouldn't be budged on the "Holiday 2015" line, despite developer Crystal Dynamics suggesting its game won't be coming to PC and PS4. Neither would the exec comment on the wording, "exclusively on Xbox", which could suggest an Xbox 360 version of the game is also in development.

"We're saying what we said on stage," said Spencer. "In Holiday 2015, Rise of the Tomb Raider will be exclusive to Xbox. That's the comment.

"We had a lot of similar questions around Titanfall and the structure of our deal is a business relationship that's frankly between us and Square Enix. I know Crystal Dynamics has issued a statement and we're going to stand by that. Xbox fans are going to be able to play Tomb Raider next holiday exclusive on Xbox."

oh I'm not arguing it's not silly, and people have a right to be upset, I just hate people getting so absurdly butthurt over one game that they start throwing out dumb shit like M$/$ony SHOULD DIE, etc. there's no real point to being a console warrior, you don't get anything out of it beyond looking like an asshole, and I find it pretty tiresome.
also still think its more than likely a timed exclusive and/or will at least make PC eventually.
