Beat me to it. Basically this is a remake of the first game.
I loved this game when it came out back in 2005 on the original xbox. It was one of those niche/unknown titles back then that didn't get a lot of marketing.
looks hella bitch made, they should be remaking fusion frenzy
Phantom Dust is one of my top 3 original Xbox games. Them trying to draw me to buy a 'bone with a sequel won't work, though.
...for now, anyway.
Part of what made the first one work so damn well was a lot of little things: Animation looked neat. The anime-esque impact on the ground and walls when landing/being thrown into/through them made everything seem more awesome. Custom soundtracks for every stage made it so every fight felt awesome, even the trash missions. It didn't hurt it was a budget title, either. Easily the best twenty bucks for a new game in that generation.
It feels like a lightning strike, though. I'm doubtful they'll recapture it, though that might just be my pessimistic side hoping they don't.

Also, while Darkside to fire all of it's original staff, the owners have hired some freelancers for some unnamed projects.
Saw that over the weekend. It's a god damned shame, that early build looked a lot like the original and also a ton of fun.
