The plot still seems whack but with a Sonic that at least looks more similar to his game version and Carrey it might be worth a matinee viewing during the week.

I'd put money on this being some weird ass marketing ploy where they put out this whack ass design just for the trailers and the movie already has a better Sonic in place. They've gotten a shit ton of attention and are now "listening" to the fans.
