Interesting note about that mid-credits scene;

Taking place on Earth, we see a glowing portal swell and emerge before some epic music starts to play and a character hops through. You might have recognized their shoes and who they were in general but are you aware of who it was that was voicing them?

We're sure that some hardcore fans of the franchise will have. Colleen Villard took over as the official voice of Tails in 2014 — replacing Kate Higgins. Villard first appeared as Tails in the Sonic Boom animated series and has since reprised the role in other media such as the Sonic Forces and Team Sonic Racing video games.

So that's a kick in the face for Roger Craig Smith whose been Sonic's VA for the past decade.

So they pulled a DC where they didn't have the TV guy play the character in the movie ( or in this case VA ) for Sonic...but they did it for Tails.

That's just...odd. Schwartz though did it pretty well. But now reading this, yeah, Roger should have been given the chance tor voice him in the film.

Am I getting this right. They had the original VA for a character with barely any lines? They'll probably replace them too when the character is featured more prominently, I don't see what the issue is.

The issue is lesser known, yet consistent VAs get fucked out of work the moment companies care more about name recognition.

Tangentially related, it's like Netflix completely redubbing Money Heist because they basically thought using a lot of anime VAs would scare people off.

Snake's VA changed from Hayter to Sutherland during the development of MGS V which makes since given (Major spoiler)

You're not actually playing as the real Snake but rather one of his soldiers that had his face reconstructed to look like him and underwent mental conditioning to believe he was Big Boss. While this Snake was busy building up the Diamond Dogs the real Big Boss was working on New Haven.

It honestly plays out very well in the game. It always sucked that Hayter wasnt involved in the final metal gear game, but kojima made it work.

Did actual big boss show up in the game and speak? I vaguely vaguely remember him doing so and being voiced by Hayter but I don't remember clearly

Big boss does show up and do the reveal at the end, but it's still voiced by Sutherland. One of my only gripe with the game =( but also, because it should have been voiced by Richard Doyle, who voiced older Big Boss in MGS4. Sutherland was clearly kojima being a fan and wanting to rope him in like he roped all those famous people for death stranding.
