As many people expected this is a monster hunter ish game. Plays about the same way you start by creating your characters and then the game throws you inside. There is a NPC which will give you tips and info about different commands and play wise, and the game will force you to do 3 Tutorial quests before starting)
Control are pretty simple (PS Circle Pad pro is deactivated by default so people with a CPP or a N3DS will have to activate the extra analog stick in the menu)
Y is to attack
X is to open the item menu
Right analog to turn camera (in frields only)
A is to scavenge items
B and the ZL + ZR are for sprinting (consome AP)
R is to target the closest mobs
L/R is to access the ability list that you set You can have exemple L + X Cure then Esuna on R+ X so that's about 8 skills you can set.
Once you finish the 3 Tutorial quest game let's you take real quests and access facilities (Armor shop and etc). As of now there's only 3 shops
1) Smithy (to create or upgrade weapon + armor)
2) Item Shop
3) Moogle that you can buy items with gil or Play coins.
They will also let you set Subquests, you seem to be able to have 5 subquests at once and 1 main quest. Sub quests are stuff like gather 10 items, or deliver a knuckle (if you already have the items you can already turn in the subquest)
Jobs :
They will let you access jobs after you finish the tutorial, you get Knight White Mage, Monk, Black Mage at the start. Jobs do not seem to have any level, you simply get better at the job by buying abilities and gear.
You can only change job in town.
Abilities :
In the middle of the city there is a Crystal, it will let you buy abilities for CP (rewards from Main and Sub quests)
Abilities that your current job can equip will be in Green.
Online, this is much like MH, you click play mode then choose online, then you search or create rooms. Difficulty doesn't seem to increase online (compared to MH), and you can only do quests you have done
Overall, game is OK for a Final Fantasy game, but feels really slow, there doesn't seem to have any story, and reading reviews game seems really for casuals (no difficulty and etc)
Small tip Game will let you buy gear that you cannot equip and on the gear itself there is no way to see if you can equip it, you have to go to status after changing a job to know what you can equip, and then read the equipment description to see if it can be equipped
