SO is it just me, or did C9 basically get put into the best possible group they could have hoped for? 3rd place China, Euro 1st... no Korean teams.
i dont think c9 is good enough for it to matter unfortunately
Eh. I could see 'em taking a round.
C9 hasn't been good this season at all. I don't know what happened with them? Maybe the lack of ability to evolve really killed them.
They still have the c9 Magic. As long as sneaky welcomes me to his butthole I will always support them
Two things happened to C9. First was the shot-calling. I still stand by my observation of Hai's lack of mechanics, but in jungle it hasn't mattered. Getting him back for shotcalling has been enormous.
But I think something more important happened: Charlie isn't the coach.
With Charlie around-- both Spring Split (where they were good but not great), and this split, they were trailing behind, following the meta. That has NEVER been C9's style-- they SET the meta. They push it. With Lemon back as the primary pick/ban caller, their team cohesion and ability to adapt has gone through the roof. They never had that with Charlie.
So it's been two big changes that are dramatically improving them as a team.
Balls has also been falling off this split, though he was picking it up in Regionals. Lemon's never been about his amazing support play (though I do tend to think it's better-than-advertised), but about his position in pick-bans, and in helping C9 form meta-changing compositions. If Hai's a world-class shot-caller, I legitimately believe LemonNation is a world-class pick/ban. If he had the personality for it, he should be like... a second coach-- not the guy to analyze game with everyone afterward and guide their practices and such. Just the guy to come out for pick-ban. He may be the best there is worldwide, and is certainly the best there is at that NA/EU.
Bubbadub is a fantastic coach for the style that C9 wants to play. There is a reason the Lemons notebook became known as his "Death Note". The players do watch film and they know the power picks of the meta better then any one else possibly can. Dictating what to pick and what to ban on a case by case basis has always been the way to go in this game, and the best coaches are the ones who can adapt the quickest, Charlie was the weakest link on the team by far. I can see C9 finishing 1st or 2nd in the 2016 Spring split IF, they pick up Rush, as he is a great jungler and shotcaller AND they replace Balls in the toplane. Balls' contract ends after Worlds anyway, so this shouldnt be an issue.
Not really relating to the NA/EU LCS but... relates to 1 person unofficially
@Gryffes: Remember 2 or 3 weeks ago I mentioned in chat about me seeing a "missing persons" advertisement in the London Underground that looked like C9's Sneaky? It came up again today...
Taking a photo (it was a projector image against the station wall) is a bit moot considering a google search brought up a clearer pic:
The resemblance is rather uncanny. Then I noticed the date he was missing since 2007. Sneaky's 21 at the moment... it almost adds up lol
Sneaky has the features of a greek god. That child is a troglodyte

That Pharma guy catching hell is the owner of Team Imagine. lololoololol
and he'll probably be in the LCS next year with 3 teams for sale. (TIP, T8, why am i forgetting the 3rd)
dig
Team 8 is selling their spot. Not surprisingly.
oops wrong thread :D
monte and thoorins top 20 players blows my mind, having the same number of LPL and LCK players when i think it's universally accepeted that 3 of the top 4 teams at worlds are chinese.
and only 1 player from fnatic each.. idk man
I'm listening to it at work. Don't know how much I agree with their lists. Not that I would add too many EU/NA players but the order is weird for me...
