the problem i have with it is their reasoning just seems epicly retarded, since essentially they are saying the korean players in the LPL are carrying the LPL. but then they go on the other foot for korea and say that you essentially can't be a top 20 player right now on a bad team because of how much the game is shifting towards a team game and not a solo carry game.

maybe i'm misunderstanding something, maybe i didn't watch enough LCK but i don't think LPL and LCK should have equal amount of players in the top 20, i'd say it should be more skewed to LPL 10, korea 5-6 eu 2-3, NA 1 or 2

Made what i thought would be the top 20 roughly, harder than i thought so props to lolesports and thoorin/monte for attempting it. obviously a lot of this is bias since it's hard knowing how people will match up with eachother. only added explanations for the ones i found interesting, kind of fun to do.

1. Faker
-No explanation needed here, LCK still has the best player in the world.
2. Imp
-if Imp is on his A game I don't think he can be beaten, even in a meta where ADC isn't king imp seems to still always be able to carry.
3. Rookie
-Great mid laner.
4. Clearlove
-Consistently a great jungler through all seasons even despite language barriers.
5. Deft
6. Acorn
7. Ssumday
8. PawN
-Didn't get the credit he deserved last year, or at MSI, how long are we gonna leave PawN off the list?
9. Kakao
10. GodV
11. Yellowstar
-Versatile player, has been solid throughout multiple positions and with multiple players. always consistent.
12. Picaboo
13. Febiven
-Beast mid laner in his rookie season. did well against SKT at MSI
14. Bjergsen
-I hate TSM so it pains me to put bjerg on this list but if you take shotcalling as a factor in equating this, i think bjerg deserves some credit considering the players he's playing with. I like TSMs bot lane for what the available options(meaning they will get shit on at worlds, i'm saying they are good for NA standards) are but in a top lane centric meta the fact that bjerg is still able to carry dyrus and a mediocre jungler is impressive.
15. Smeb
-Not a fan of Koo, i think they shit the bed under pressure and only pick up wins in a meta that suits them and weaker LCK teams but smeb is still an extremely solid player and in a top lane meta smeb is enough of a reason to get them to worlds.
16. Bang
-Cleanup ADC of faker, i think he's underrated on SKT. could be higher, worlds will tell.
17. Rekkles
-Extremely solid, extremely consistent.

19. Pyl
20. Zionspartan
-woo CLG makes the list. i think zion is the only player on the team that really stands out, doublelift is good sure but he makes some stupid mistakes, if i had 21 or 22 double would probably be on the list. i don't think aphro had as strong of a split this summer. pobe is decent, xmithie cracks under pressure. barely made the cut. CLG is my favorite team so maybe a bit of bias here

6 mids, 5 tops, 4 adcs, 3 supports and 2 junglers and ended up being what i predicted at 10 LPL, 5 LCK, 3 EU, 2 NA

yeah, i'm sure arguments can be made for my list it's probably not close to the actual top 20 players, i just thought their lists were skewed a bit too korean.. since FNC is suppossed to be top 5 and there are 3 chinese teams in the top 4. the only korean powerhouse is SKT. seemed a bit odd to me
