created an OAT/Emnity-10 Tamaxchi for testing. Below is parser data from killing 3 Mandragora outside of town with nothing but regular mage armor as WHM/SCH.

The first three melee attacks were down w/ Owleyes because I'm a retard.

WOW. That is HUGE. So 40% OAT, on 115 weapons which are only a couple base damage behind REM? OAT polearm is now probably on par with and might even give Ryuno a run for its money, full time 40% OaT only 5 DMG behind it. Definitelty crushes Upukirex and Gungnir easy.

Just to put things in perspective for you, at 99 when Trial of Magian weapons were still hot, Chauvre-Souris was an OAT Polearm with a base damage of DMG110. A 99 REM Polearem was DMG151-159ish base damage, 40 base damage difference and even then Chauvre-Souris was second only to Ryuno and not particular far behind.

Now you can get OAT on a Polearm thats 239 base damage, only like 6 damage behind Ryuno. Definitely annihilates Gungnir, Rhongo, Upukirex and may even crush Ryuno considering how close in base damage it is and fulltime OAT. AM3 is 40%OAT 20%OA3, OAT weapons are permanently 40% OAT and proc on Jumps just as well(but not WS). Will be interesting to see how these OAT115 fare. I can see Greatsword being ridiculously good for RUN and DRK and maybe even GK and Gaxe.

Much less skill in the weapon though.

the absent of the skill on those weapons will be noticeable on anything remotly hard. you give up like 50 accuracy and 50 attack. considering the current hard stuff needs double madrigals and sushi to achieve a caped hitrate 50 acc could hurt there.

Appears you've made a hyperbolic post that nobody should pay attention to.

I don't know why people keep making broad sweeping statements about any of this stuff when you can just open up spreadsheets and at least estimate something with an ounce of relevance.

You can mitigate some of that acc with the +30 acc augment though. COR and GEO getting stronger buffs/debuffs also means more hit rate down the line as well.

+15 acc not +30. The +30 is from the same category as OAT.

    What Garaku said.
If you get +30 acc you won't get OAT.
    And also, that solves nothing:

    1) It's +15 att, it works on BOTH weapons, so it does nothing to shorten the gap between primary and secondary.
    2) You're missing ~56acc compared to your primary weapon (if it's a 119 of course), it's a lot

It's a similar situation with NIN dualwielding Raimitsukane/Shigi, but at least there the difference is very small, here we're talking about quite a big one, it's gonna have clear performance consequences.

I say it's only worth it for ilvl content 115 and less... use those weapons when acc is easy to cap and stick with 119 weapons for the real stuff.

Didn't SE say that they also plan to do 119 WKR gear?

with regards to the polearm discussion, drg also has a +35 acc from native trait, so with the 15 acc aug you're about where other jobs would be with a 119 weapon as far as acc goes. its still a ~50 attack loss, but thats similar to the old magian OAT plm, lower dps rating, but ws frequency so high that it balances somewhat. I make no arguments as to where it falls in the hierarchy, but i don't think it can be dismissed so casually over 54 skill.

Since the majority of my time is spent whacking away at gears and chariots in Salvage, the OAT should speed things up nicely and open up the option to come on THF or DNC more often. Currently mnk and pup just wreck the joint.

Could try MNK or PUP and put OAT augment on Maochinoli... might be even faster

Has anyone tried AAs since the update? Wondering whether or not this:

Due to the adjustments to weapon skills in this patch, certain monsters have erroneously had their corresponding weapon skills increased in damage.
    * This is scheduled to be rectified in the July 2014 version update.

will ruin my DM plans for this weekend.

If you don't want to blow your paragons on the ring/bell, ring drops from Yumcax and bell drops from Kumhau.

I could not tell you honestly. I put on music and was not keeping track at all. It didn't take too long definitely in the 250-300 range, and like mythic the weaponskill pops up in your menu when it is unlocked.
