To Laugh is to Love is the stupidest quest ever. They've rejected all 6 types of food, and when fiddling with the other options on the ones that I can actually make myself, I've failed at least 15-20 times already. I really don't want to have to go through all 162 combinations to find the one that will work, especially with how awful it is to get some of these foods.
Also, the wiki is showing the description for Vegetable Vegetable Revolution on the To Laugh Is To Love page.
Completed the quest To Laugh Is to Love by choosing the qiqurn hood, a lively jig, I heard you're a great cook, and felicifruit gelatin.
Rewards 1000 exp. And probably 0.2 management skill.
So, to kill the last bit of hope that Crusade/NinNewSpells were something different and unique... well, Animus: Augeo doesn't stack, I get the effect that the spell couldn't be applied if cast on a target with Crusade on.
Which kinda leads me to think it's the same exact type of buff =/
Well maybe it's stronger hopefully, altough tbh I don't remember a lot of testing on Animus spells, other than they do not go beyond the enmity caps... it was a fixed enmity+/-10 or something?
Well that technically isn't 100% confirmation. iirc there is precedent for that... I think it was Pyric Bulwark/phalanx or was it bulwark and cocoon idk something blu related though but yeah I think in this case they are probably is the same thing. Not sure about the sch spell testing though
I asked for it looooong time ago and was told (in the random questions thread) by several people they don't break enmity caps (lower or higher) and that they're like ~10 enmity or something.
Never seen extended tests about them though.
Might be Bias but I seemed to be noticing a big difference when I cast Flash while under Crusade on Run. As in: i gave me the impression that the effect was very powerful (so more than just +10?). But I'm a noob tank, maybe it's just bias
Well the bg wiki pages say they count as equipment and there are links so that might show testing on that... as far as crusade goes I might be able to do some limited testing by this weekend but have to level up my whm mules brd since it doesn't have any good test spells really. Probably wont be able to test cap breaking well till I get back my brd mule
I believe it's at N-10 next to the NPC.
I have since confirmed that it also costs 18 to get to 15. Thus, 180 merit points are needed to fully upgrade one Attribute to 15 (3 > 6 > 9 > 9 > 9 > 12 > 12 > 12 > 12 > 15 > 15 > 15 > 15 > 18 > 18) and only 51 merit points (15 > 18 > 18) to upgrade one Attribute already at 12 to 15.
The key item Memo found in Rala Waterways could be related, since it's not turned in with the rest of the key items for A Thirst for the Eons. Also worth noting that without having taken the quest you can't get the memo and the blank spot does nothing, tested those with a mule. The memo looks like a puzzle of sorts. Some of the key items you get for the quest have letters at the end that could align, grid-like, with the memo puzzle, but I can't make anything out of it.
Ok, so I remember the correct data.
I guess all that is left now is to hope that Crusade and the NIN ones give bigger numbers then =/
What are the caps? +100 and -50?
NIN with the new spell and Innin up might as well be sitting at -50.
That, paired with Crusade on a Tank, might make melee setups a bit more manageable. Whereas with other jobs there's really no way a tank can reliably keep hate from melee jobs (everybody would be constantly close to the cap and the monster would move around, kinda just like in the Abyssea days).
Or am I oversimplifying things?
Just posting it all here. Maybe a random reader is a decipherer in disguise.
Spoiler: show
No idea what any of it means.
YEah those are the gear caps not sure if innin counted as gear or not. It might help them keep hate longer but even a nin sitting at -50 enmity would still easily get and stay capped I'd have to go back and check the numbers but iirc in order to maintain VE decay it only takes like 20-30 dps lol. And capping CE I believe should take around 20-30k dmg... which worked great when mobs had only 50-100k hp but with 2 mil hp mobs and ws going up to 15-20k now you still gunna cap fast
This puzzle doesn't seem too hard by itself... that is, if it is completed. The problem with this puzzle is the blanks. After a few minutes of looking at it, the key seems simple, and if I'm correct it's based on the letters at the top and on the left side. Let's start with AoWv. Look at the left, and A is the top row besides the lower-case. Now look at the uppermost row and note the o. It is the fifth letter, so I assume Ao = E. This would make Wv = T, but from there it gets more tricky, since we have a lot of blank spaces. All of the blurbs do match up with a pairing, so...
Now, for the blanks; I think it is the missing letters of the alphabet, in order. Two dashes = 1 letter. Gives you six letters per row except the last, so makes sense. So if we look at that... I get E T R N Q V F R, which is strange. Perhaps it's some kind of scrambled message... and it likely has something to do with the last row. Now, we know there are two more gaps unaccounted for; right after "Z" would leave an odd number which throws off my 2-per-letter theory, but it's possible that there's punctuation or something, idk. And then after "We" we have enough space for six letters. So that's where the mystery continues, as well as the use for the scrambled letters. Is there any further information that goes with the quest?
Another observation:
The first letters of the each row are the first letters of the orders of Adoulin corresponding to the Ministers & Grand Chancellor:
Adoulin
Gorney
Janniston
Woltaris
Renaye
Weatherspoon
The top letters of each column are the first letters of the orders of Adoulin corresponding to the Coalitions:
karieyh
vocane
shneddick
haverton
orvail
thurandaut
By the way, in case anyone didn't understand what Kensagaku's post meant, think of it as a grid indexed by the first letter in each row and column:

From Freshly Picked:
Paladin
We’ve also added Crusade to paladin’s array of spells.
Crusade adds an effect that is equivalent to enmity +30.
Ninja
We’ve added Gekka: Ichi to facilitate enmity gain and Yain: Ichi to suppress enmity gain.
Gekka: Ichi and Yain: Ichi give an effect of enmity +30 and enmity -15, respectively.
