S5 E3 was good, I actually liked the ants.

Lalo can somehow verbally bully Saul like no one else can.

It just dawned on me how much alike Lalo and Walt are.

And I am more and more convinced that Kim is going to botch Mesa Verde hard somehow in her growing apathy and that will force them to become Mesa Credit Union.

I think this little spurt of Mike's aggression is getting the taste of having to off Werner out of his mouth. The Kaylee incident didn't help things, but he is really worried about who he is becoming and what hes will be getting himself into if he continues on the path of revenge against the Salamancas.

I mean it does look off, but what can you do? Characters should be like 5 years younger in BCS than they were in BB, but the actors playing them are a decade older instead.

im aware of why he did it, i'm just saying it looks ridiculous. not quite as bad as robert deniro in the irishman but still pretty silly

Not sure if I like what Jimmy did to Howard after the fact. Seems a little spiteful for him to act that way towards someone other than Chuck and even if it wasn't then it just seems a little severe to do that much damage.

Mesa Verde about to run into a shitstorm, and I kind of want it to happen. We kind of know what happens to Saul and Gus, but all of this Kim intrigue is really pulling me in deep.

Also Gus, did he have someone tail Mike? Only explanation I can grasp is that Tyrus was following him while Victor handled Hank/Steve.

Continuity error? I don't remember Steve ever calling Hank by his last name. Hearing him yell "Schrader" felt off. Their culvert banter was great though.

They were also in the field and not in an office environment, so possibly the reason he was being more official using his last name.

i think the writers are leaning a bit heavily on Gus being impossibly omniscient and endlessly wealthy. i don't think we were ever clearly shown anyone tailing Mike but we have to assume the Chilean is on top of it

is this Jimmy and Kim's last game they run? thinking it might be

I laughed so hard at that, I had to rewind to make sure I had heard it correctly. I didn't realize AMC put out uncensored "fucks" over cable.

I think 2 things are assumed.

1: The cartel is paying him well for his infrastructure, allowing them unimpeded access without much attention from the DEA.

    2. Earlier, when Nacho and his group go to check the deliveries in the warehouse when they looked surprised Tyrus and Victor were there and the other guy got bagged and offed, I had the feeling that the Salamancas were trying to see how or if Gus was skimming. I assumed he was ever so slightly, and that it irked Hector so bad that he was being taken without any proof - bested by the Chilean.

Between those two, and his own thriving business, I can see him being able to spend a few million in capital on improving his business and having some to spare.

Could also be that at that point they didn't know each other that well yet?

oh yeah, it for sure works well enough, justifications for Gus' ample means. it's just been flexed a lot lately

between Johns Hopkins, super lab materials, super lab labor (especially unrealized labor), Margarethe's payout, lawyers, copious urgent airfare, story manufacture, bleeding $800k at the dead drops, etc., Gustavo has probably spent more like $20+ million outside of typical operations recently

I loved the conversation between Gus and Mike at the end of this episode. That goes down for me as one of the best scenes in the series.

Did you notice what was engraved on that fountain? And extensionally the reason that little town is so dear to Gus? If you did kudos to you.

What did Kim see in that picture?!! Aaaaaaarrrrrrgggggghhhh!

My first guess is some form of copyright infringement with the Mesa Verde logo's artwork. Though I don't see how that would be enough to bring the call center or the whole expansion tumbling down.

Maybe it pivots into them shifting to Mesa Credit Union and moving the call center - which ends up being the branch that Walter uses with Jesse.

Agreed on Gus/Mike conversation. But Mike was pretty damn loyal during BB, and it still seems theres a step or two for him to get there in BCS...so that is somethin else to pay attention to. Lalo would be the obvious target.

Reading that Bill Burr was supposed to be Kuby this season but couldn't due to a close friend passing. Betting that Sobchek was supposed to be Kuby.

I'm also getting some Walt vibes from Kim. Not in the same way Walt degraded into an overly proud and prideful person, but degrading her self imposed moral line to the point where she has such a large amount of wrath for Jimmy pulling her in and envy of him being able to always skirt any real punishment through his own "slippin" gift. She is either going to break herself or Jimmy at the end of this, and it is going to be such a huge payoff.

which BB episode shows the flashback where Hector kills Max?

after Gus told Mike what he understands about Mike is the desire for revenge, I had to go back to S1's Five-O and watch all the Mike scenes again
