Post-Chuck with a heavier focus on the cartels pre-Heisenberg is a hell of a lot better show imo.
Chicanery is still the best episode for me so far.
Oh I 100% agree. I'm just glad we're past it lol.
Potential set-up for BB cameos?
Spoiler: show
No thanks. El Camino was already awkward enough with everyone having clearly aged and fattened up despite it taking place immediately after BB.
Sorry if this is a repost but saw this Ignacio/Lalo reference from Breaking Bad.

I fucking love how Saul has a huge sigh of relief to learn it wasn’t Lalo despite still being kidnapped lmao.
Yeah, there's been a lot of talk around that reference in this season.
We know that the Salamanca's "died out" with Hector, so at some point Lalo is dead.
The fact that Jimmy is scared at that level during BB means that Lalo is either not dead yet at that point or Jimmy doesn't know he is dead.
Also implies that Nacho (Ignacio) is still alive and would have a reason to be trying to "get" Jimmy, or use Jimmy to hide from Lalo.
Still a lot of story to be told between those three with only 15 episodes to do it.
Loved every minute of this episode.
Mike must have gone to Marine Sniper School cause that was a damn near impossible shot. o_o
the power of an extended length exhale, Mike cannot miss
also, it took 10+ days to shoot and people were on fulltime rattlesnake duty. and those stuntmen are legit
That look of abject fear in Jimmy's face after Lalo told him Kim visited. Wow. Chills.
man this is so good
everyone's intentions are all so interwoven in incredible and unpredictable ways; those last couple scenes were nerve-racking
Calling that Badger or Skinny Pete was the botched trial that Saul was being ribbed for. Skinny Pete leads us back to Tuco, but Badger had only recently started probation around the beginning of BB from what I remember. Both would be great, quick cameos at a sentencing hearing that could pull Hank and Steve back in for the finale.
How big is S6 going to be? My god.
Edit: Just looked back and it seems like the BB episode Better Call Saul was the first time Badger met Saul. So money is on a Skinny Pete cameo. Leads them into bringing Tuco back.
What's Tuco's situation right now again? Lalo said he's out in 11 months. He was in on a gun charge and then shanked someone while in jail? It seems quite fortunate he'll be out soon.
S2 was 2002, we're now in 2004. Didn't Mike take 50k to say that the gun wasn't Tuco's when he was arrested after the fight at the restaurant? That probably bumped 5-10 years down to 2-3 years, which would be right where we are at in 11 months. Skinny Pete would be just the kind of relevant cameo that they've been trying to build without ham-fisting appearances. A great low-key one would be having Jesse sit in the back during any sentencing.
Still kind of surprised Marie hasn't been a client of Kim fighting a shoplifting charge.
Not sure if they're going to sunset Lalo and bring Tuco back for the main villain, or if the two will play off each other with Lalo being the calculating evil and Tuco being batshit crazy while Nacho is trying to get out with his dad. Them mentioning Tuco staying clean was curious to me because we already know that isn't the case.
I half expected Lalo to say something like "Hold on to her Saul, she's a good one" after Kim went off on him lol
That last scene is going to stick with me for a long time. I particularly enjoyed the fact that all of the commercials were front loaded to the point where I was wondering why, then the last 20 minutes or so were entirely commercial free just so they could get through the last scene uninterrupted. It's great that they have the pull with the network to be able to get that done in the name of good storytelling.
I can't wait for the next prequel series, Cooking with Lalo.
When Lalo dies (I mean what other outcome is there) I'm really going to miss him. He brings a lot to the show. He's funny and frightening and like all of the other characters, feels natural and not forced.
