The only part I don't like about desynth is that just having a craft over 30 takes a point away from the cap. So you could max 3 crafts, but if you're lv50 in all crafts you can max 2 and have one nearly maxed. -_-

I just sold a shit ton of fish to NPCs a couple weeks ago too >_<
WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING TO ME
at least I kept the 6 primal weapons I've accumulated over the last 9months or so -_-
Finally a way to get rid of primal weapons for gains!
Figures, I just tossed all my primal weapons like two months ago, that I had collected because they were taking up space lol.
Unless they add a new mechanism for requesting crafts from others, I don't expect the primal weapons will be involved in the actual synthesis. Since those weapons are U/U (though I guess they could change that...), the only people who could make use of those weapons are the people who can turn around and craft it themselves.
Oh, I just checked that desynth link. Nvm, that makes more sense now. Didn't realize that whole desynth thing was related.
On the topic of desynthesis, however, it's interesting to see that CUL gets a desynthesis skill....
I'm glad they are introducing something we can do with old housing items. Company chest is full of "bound" (I think?) furniture.
If fish can desynth again praise all fuckin Hydaelyn
Peiste Map - 24hr
Daily - 24hr(I'm fine with this)
Daily Expert Map - 24hr - Not that I'm even bothering with this portion of the quest but having the alternative to just be grind fate or more brayflox is asinine.
Coil 2 - Weekly(I'm fine with this)
Tower 2.1 - Weekly(was bothered by this, the gear didn't even take any BiS and the sets that used it were often behind those that didn't use the pieces)
Now lets look to the horizon of 2.3
Hunt marks 24hr for regular hunts and weekly for Elite, this is retarded.
Tower will most likely have the weekly lock out again which is retarded.
Grind content is good when done properly, but slapping a grind in 5% drop rate territories or running the same dungeon you've been doing for the last 5 months isn't great design.
Salvage from XI is a good example of a grind done properly with a time wall, you always got something beneficial out of it for either yourself or those that participated with you, and if you were fortunate to get 35 gear then you probably completed a full piece that day. I was in one of those groups that saw 35s fairly regularly at least once every 2-3 runs if memory serves to be correct. Just never Usu feet because fuck that bee.
Lol, are you serious with this? If anything all the grinds in XIV except for atmas are beneficial to all that participate because you all get the same points for running content. Coil being the exception but I wasn't even considering Coil as casual content anyway and I'm not discussing its obvious limitations when it comes to loot. And I feel we're going way off the mark here, my point is that XIV is very casual outside of Coil because you can achieve anything else at your own pace and mostly on your own. I can log in right now and run primals/dungeons/anything but Coil2 as much as I want to get weapons or other loot. Try doing that in the golden age XI and see how many hours you waste waiting in Jeuno or Whitegate.
And I'm not even saying that it's all good, just pointing out that this game isn't even close to the level of grind its predecessor had unless you want it to be. In XI there was no choice, you were either grinding or not playing.
Coil is also the only thing worth mentioning with a lockout timer, CT has only loot limitations but you can run it all week long if you really want to. Everything else is something you wouldn't want to grind anyway except for maybe maps... which you can buy off the MB.
So when I miss a day/week I can still do:
Coil I missed?
Soldiery tome caps I missed?
Roulette I missed?
Daily I missed? (yes, I know lolz, but this whole shit is exactly why I hate the term "daily" with a huge passion)
Get lolCT gear I missed?
And with 2.3 Hunts I missed?
My casual ass doesn't want to be forced to log in every day for a little bit of dumb ass grinding, especially FFXIV's dumb ass grinding. To link it to your FFXI example, yes it had stupid grinds, but at least there I could do shit for 10 hours straight once a week (has happened with relic trials) if I so chose and not annoy myself every day a little bit for the same result. Does FFXIV have that option? Nope.
Go on holiday but still paying sub? No extra Coil for you when you get back. A token system would alleviate alot of Coil static problems because they could just say: ok missing somebody but np, we go twice next week.
That's why I want a token system.
Want to continue the name calling or provide reasons why you don't want a token system?
Oh wait... hurts your "hardcore" feel? My bad. Game is all yours. Have fun.
I would consider myself casual even though i tend to play daily and I cant wrap my head around what you are trying to say.
I think he wants the option to absorb all of the daily grinds into one long super-grind on the weekends? I think?
