Late reply. I agree, she's likely not XIV specific, and that morning, she was helping out the merch section as a cashier and chatting with people.
That said, what I remember of her translations, I found she took more care to translate the between-the-lines meanings and intent than Koji. I like Koji, but he translated Yoshi-P's words and replaced all of Yoshi-P's flavor with his own. Also, there was one slight mistrans that I remember specifically: when asked about ninja nexus, the response was kakkoii, meaning cool or awesome, but Koji described it as very, very good. These aren't the same thing. I also remember Yoshi-P having to repeat certain things a few times to get Koji to say those things specifically (not always successfully).
I like Koji, and his presentation generally, but honestly, I think I preferred Ms Tokutake's slightly jumbled, but more true translations. She just needs to study the games better.
(P.S. she also very loyally translated to Japanese Bayohne's English statements/questions as he presented them.)
What Blackrose said. Her range and vocals were fine, but the entire sound stage was poorly mixed. The bass was scooped to almost nothing, and the vocals in general were very flat. No one consistently sings that flat across multiple songs. Convention halls are pretty hard to mix as they have the acoustical properties of a metal box, but the sound engineer certainly could have done better. That said, the show didn't disappoint. I'd love to see them perform at a proper venue.
This right here. She was a very good translator; she just wasn't overly familiar with the specific game terms, which is understandable if she bounces between several IPs. I'll second that her context and vocal emphasis was spot on. It was a much more natural translation.
Batman -> SAM -> ???
Interesting though that they would release 2 jobs before fanfests... or are they just gona talk about PVP in London?
They can talk about all the stuff they plan for expansion.
During music panel Soken showed some folders on his laptop, one Folder was marked Samurai. So people are asuming its a job hint.

omg lol.. Koji is talented lol.
Loved Under The Weight most.
quite notably they didnt do Answers..
guessing since its Soken helming the concert.
Can I get a cliffnotes of what to watch since I pretty much ignored everything after the initial keynote?
Might as well watch the archive since I paid the $20 to even access it.
DAY 1-
Definitely check out the
music panel (Soken on drugs)
lore panel (amazing)
Koji guest panel bit (after the lore panel)
dev panel
DAY 2 -
had a GM panel if your interested and the Live Letter. There's also the costume contest if you're interested in that. Best thing about Day 2 was Koji singing Moggle Mog song.
did they ever give a release time for the updates to mog station for new fantasia? I assume cash shop and paypal support too.
I'm assuming when 2.4 hits.
I believe they stated all the cash shop items would be in 2.4(although maybe not the Sleipnir mount sine no price was announced yet).
Best thing about fanfest was yoshi-p telling the ninja cosplayer in the costume contest that he needed to lose weight.
I met the translator lady and Koji during my interview and she was really nice. Yoshida actually sent her running after me because he forgot to tell me something and she was super nice to deliver his message. I'm not sure she plays the game for sure but yeah, she is a good translator.
Slepnir most likely didn't have a price cause that shit will be like $20-30 and they didn't wanna get booed when they showed it.
