Machinist/Engineer a la Mustadio!
Imo, it might be something even totally unexpected.
I still go with Mediator (Orator), but now with this entire semi-reveal, it could be something else completely different.
Btw, I find it comedy that Yoshi-P bought that dude's batman shirt and incorporated it into his entire show. Yoshi-P, showman for all times.
They're probably going to leave classes in for the jobs we have now and from 3.0 on, every new jobs will be without a class.
Oh I know that. However what's stopping them from removing classes altogether? What's the point in keeping Lancer and Dragoon separate (or any other class that isn't Arcanist) if they're never going to implement new jobs for them?
Maybe story?
Yeah but that's not good enough...
Edit: The story can be preserved by upgrading Lancer to Dragoon, nothing would really change. Except for Arcanist obviously.
I don't even think they will go with the branching idea anymore. It's too limited.
Honestly, as a SMN the Arcanist story really bothered me and never really made much sense. They shoehorn carbuncle into it and barely take two seconds to even try to justify it with the quests or story. I felt like the actual summoner story was interesting, but it could've been a lot better if they actually had more than like five quests to develop it. I would love nothing more than for them to just remove the entire class system together and just run with jobs like they should've just done in the 1.0 -> 2.0 shift. But alas, it probably won't happen.

Shoo mee Namas Arrrooww. Is there a shooting range as well? maybe theres a hint hidden somewhere...
Or they remove Lancer altogether and treat those 30 levels as Dragoon training. The story will clearly suffer from it and won't be as developed as DRK's I guess but it doesn't really matter. As it is the class system only makes sense for 1 of them (and even that's a stretch) and they're already moving away from it because it's way too limiting and creating completely new jobs from it is a pain. DRK is a tank just like PLD so they could've made it a secondary job, they didn't.
I suppose we'll see how Rogue>Ninja plays out but I assume those quests were already far into development when this decision was made for the expansion.

I insantly thought of FFXII: http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Urutan-Yensa
God I fucking loathed the Sandsea.
Seems like a mix of Antica and Urutan-Yensa.
