Let's make future Fanfests happen!
I'm down for it sans-expansions, but I hope it's not in LV again. SF/NY/LA perhaps. Over the last 10 years or so, Vegas has just become a giant, exorbitantly-priced adult theme park/shopping mall that reaps off all the people trying to eat/sleep/exist there for a few days, stuck in the casinos or on the strip because they're only there for a convention and there's nowhere else to go that doesn't involve a $30 cab ride.
The only benefit is the constant, lawful, drinking everywhere you go. Giant frosty-mug margaritas are the only thing that got me through that merch line.
Do it in LA so I don't have to drive/fly anywhere!
LMAO at top reply. All he wanted was a double double from in-n-out. XD
Also I agree with Fievel!
That is me, and yes I wanted a double double really bad. I have missed them since I moved from LA to Seattle, no other burger compares. My fiance was kind enough to rent a car and drive me directly there after we landed, he is the best.
I did really want to go shopping but I probably saved myself several hundred dollars by instead just hanging out at fanfest. I didn't need more shoes and handbags anyway.![]()
you spelled universally wrong eanae
Whoops
Of course everyone would want a Fan Fest which is near them. Me I don't mind paying to go to one on the East or West Coast, it makes no difference to me.
It actually makes sense that it wasn't in LA, but only if you've lived in SoCal or stayed there for any period of time. Overall experience costs are generally cheaper in Vegas vs LA. Food is much cheaper, both (fast food and grocery), public transportation is cheaper, and believe it or not, entertainment is also a bit cheaper as well, despite Vegas being the premiere spot for entertainment of various forms. Casinos/Gambling is also a thing, and isn't really restricted in Vegas vs LA. It just seems that along with the general cost of living in LA, prices on everything drove up as well.
LA is cool if it's either for a smaller convention (which Vanafests were) or something gigantic, like Anime Expo. Nothing really for a midsized convention like XIV Fan Fest.
God please make it in NYC.... Las Vegas is such a depressing place.
This was finally our first time getting to try In-And-Out. We already thought Five Guys was overrated, this place seems like it too.
I mean, yeah it's cheap as balls, but it just didn't seem like it was significantly better than McDonald's. McD's would have taken less than half the time also.
I grew up in so cal and so also grew up with in-n-out. I think its fine but never really thought it was that special.
I feel like in recent years, like most things, social media has blown up in-n-out to be better than it actually is in reality. Especially now that people gotta get their instagrams and tagging themselves there for the coolness factor.
I went home over the summer and drove past one, and the line was going out into the road causing traffic. I was like wtf.... the food ain't. that. great.

Hole in the wall burger joints are better than In-n-out
That's the thing. In-N-Out is excellent for a fast food drive-thru chain. It's not an objectively great burger in the context of burgers overall... but you're not going to get one of those from any drive-thru fast food chain anyways.
