Man... If fanfest ever came to south florida, i'd take all you to a little joint called pincho factory. Where instead of buns, they use fried plantains or cuban guava pastries.

My wife likes to say that the best hamburger she ever had came from a gas station in Iceland.

I asked her if she thought it was good enough to move there.

    She didn't say "no".

I feel that way about the best lasagna I ever had from a small cafe on the Aran Islands in Ireland.

Ahh that sucks. In-And-Out usually depends on where you get it from. Sucks in Vegas, but it's pretty epic in SoCal (esp Pasadena's). Most of SoCal's In-And-Out have "secret" menus as well. Outside of that it is mostly trendy hype these days. There are definitely better burger joints elsewhere in LA as well, and the super long lines for In-And-Out is mostly hype (except the Pasadena one, that line is really justified >_>).

For Vegas, I wouldn't recommend any fast food join to anyone but the McD's on the strip. Those dudes really go the extra mile on the preparation for some 1$ burgers.

Chain food really is subject to location. Heck, I've got 3 Pizza Huts within 15 minutes of each other. If given a choice, I would only ever eat one of them. Unfortunately, it's not the closest, so family tends to gravitate toward the last place choice.

I actually went to the one in Kettleman City on my way down I-5. We did a whole west-coast road trip from Seattle to San Diego prior to driving to Vegas. We only did I-5 from San Jose to San Diego (through LA at rush hour, lel) as we had already spent a ton of time doing all sorts of awesome shit north of SF.

I read about it after we had already ordered (was looking up the deal about the bible verses on the packaging). Seemed like basically more of the same, except the Animal Style and maybe the Neapolitan shake.

I hate the In-N-Out that's close to me. And by close I mean a 20 minute bus ride or a 5 minute drive. Their patties are way too small and their burgers with grilled onions taste horrible. And the drive thru line is complete shit, sometimes taking up to a half hour to get in. Completely overrated.

The best place in my opinion is Burger City Grill. Then Five Guys. Both are within reasonable driving distance so I have some choices. I went to a Slater's 50/50 out in Newport Beach. It was not worth the money, the time, or the drive.

I don't see how Five Guys ever came into this conversation. The only draw of that hellhole is their endless toppings for fatties.

Just a bog standard canteen/cafetaria. No mention of FFXIV food.

I was being jew as I refused to pay high prices, so I brought my own sandwich. Found out 2 days later it wasn't allowed lol, but no one stopped me

It was regular food and they gave a FFXIV name to. I ended up going to McDonalds because it was a shorter wait and looked like the same quality

The EU food was reasonably priced and unexciting. What was nice was the snack bar type thing which sold drinks, chocolate bars and bananas so you could grab something easily.

In LV, they had a couple of booths selling lunch.

Much like the merch line consternation...cash only.

Really, the last thing I want to do in Las Vegas is walk around with a stack of greenbacks.

On the day we left, I actually needed to get some cash to pay a valet. Went up to an ATM, thinking "hey, it's Vegas, they don't want to inhibit people from getting *more* money to spend, so certainly the fees will be reasonable, right?". N-O-P-E. $6.50 surcharge. Fuck. That. Noise.

Living in NY, i never got to experience in-n-out till a few months ago when I went to san francisco. To be honest, animal style fries were decent but they tasted like generic cafeteria fries(should never have to smother fries in 2 sauces for them to taste good, they were just bland, generic frozen fries). Their burgers were decent, but tasted very similar to Shake Shack's. Only redemption for In-N-Out was they have a In-N-Out/Krispy-Kreme Combination drive-thru near Berkley, absolutely amazing because I love Krispy Kreme, too bad Dunkin donuts, which serves vastly inferior, made-in-a-factory&delivered by truck- tasting donuts, ran KK out of business in NYC.

Looking it up, I believe Inishmor

The place I ate at was Nan Phaddy's House of Good Food and Refreshment, I think. It was right at the tour stop for the trail up to the cliffs.
