Have not recieved a pay check.

HI everyone, I don't post here too often, but I thought I would reach out and see what kind of advice I could get about this. I had started work with the post office in beginning of June, I did two days of orientation and one day of drivers training. After which I resigned from the position for personal reasons.

They had told me that we were going to get paid for our training on June 6th. To this day I have yet to receive any pay. I have called the human resources gal a few times about this and all she tells me is that "they need to finalize some paper work and it should be in the mail." I've tried to call her this week as well and no answer. So as you can imagine I am kind of peeved at this.

What do you all think I should do?

I think that you cost them enough money going through the hiring process then resigning after three days. Not knowing what you're pay rate was, I can't imagine it's more than a 150-200 before taxes assuming you're in the low teens for pay rate.

Edit: After reading my post it sounds like I'm being a dick. But that's just my honest advice. If you were talking about a couple thousand for a full pay period that would be one thing. but for what you're trying to recover and the effort it seems you have to put in, it's not worth it I don't think.

If you want to pursue it then I'm sure since it's a government agency it's going to be very difficult but following up in person would be my next step since the phone isn't working.

Hmm no, I did two days of 8 hour training and one day of driver training for 8 hours at the rate of $15.30 an hour. Not exactly going to walk away from that.

Just keep calling their HR department. You aren't a high priority, so you will need to bug them. They are the government, its not like they are just going to pocket the money.

Pretty much not alot you can do to get it done quickly. Try contacting the Department of Labor if you haven't, but otherwise it's playing the waiting game. Since it's a government agency they can't just NOT pay you like some private business but they can take their time, and anyone who works for a state/federal agency can tell you that things can take awhile to get going cause of how inept most are.

Christ, had to call 3 different numbers to find out that my pay check is still sitting at the station I was supposed to work at. Thanks guys. Can delete or lock this which ever.
