Are you guys trying to figure out the wish based on the assumption that Wayne was able to make it come true? I got the impression that the show makes it kind of clear that Wayne is just a conman that liked hugging people for their money while keeping a stable of asian girls.

This is also how Wayne is depicted in the novel. A simple conman who hugs people with an Asian girl harem.

You have to have a real abstract mindset going into this show. I keep trying to make sense of what I watch, but it all boils down to the community (and world at large) slowly degenerating into lawlessness. That's the long and short of it. There might be some extra end-of-the-world apocalypse shit added later on, but it is what it is now.

I thought the premise of this show was dumb but then I watched it last season and quickly loved it. The 2nd season has achieved something rare for me in a show, it's fascinating.

It does a great job of sticking with you and making you think about it and wonder. Not so much "That was so cool" but more "Why did they do that? Is there more to it?"

Last night's random aside that seems to have no bearing on anything else but stuck with me: "Would you like to adopt another child? But this one is white. It's about one month old." (shows picture) "No thanks." "Very well."

Were we already supposed to know about the reason why John burned houses down? I figured there was something more sinister than just "They're taking advantage of the town's reputation," but apparently that is the motivation? Did I miss something in the first episode or two?

First time I've ever been Rickrolled by a TV show.

I think we're supposed to think the three girls Departed, but I imagine later in the year, we'll find out the quake opened up a fissure, and they got sucked into some underground cave where they drowned. Kevin didn't get sucked in because of the cinder block, but from Patti's (a.k.a. Kevin's sleepwalking) perspective, the girls did vanish. Just into a whirlpool. Although now that I think about, the phone would have gone down the drink as well. Hmmm.

My guess was always that the girls witnessed Kevin sleepwalking/throwing himself in the lake and when they went to save him, the quake happened which caused the lake to drain and the girls went down with it. Kevin being held in place of course by the cinder block

Pretty sure the car was still on with all the doors still locked which is a strong hint that they were still in it when they vanished. I guess they could have got out of the car and accidentally locked the keys in it though...

Either way, this show is fantastic. Probably my favorite show on at the moment.

I heard Patty say that, but it confused me because did the car put itself in park after they disappeared? Even if you don't have your foot on the brake, a car will continue to move until the brake is set. I presumed she's fucking with his head.
