I feel like the Melena post is the ultimate troll job post. I get that maybe they're a little more towards the plus size in his house (although admittedly are working out to get healthier, which is good) but god damn wake up and smell the poor American/Western society dieting. That squirtle shirt chick is in no way average for the human race and shouldn't be misconstrued as even acceptable for Americans.
Average dude, unless carrying a bunch of muscle, should be under 200 lbs at 5'10". I'm no where even close to 200 and have to force myself to eat more than I'd like just to keep myself buoyed at 165.
Average chick, and I don't specifically study chick nutrition since its non-applicable to me, should probably be around 140ish for 5'4"-5'6"? Correct me if I'm wrong. I know not every girl is a 100-110 toothpick, but barring muscle or pregnancy I'd imagine an average height chick should be around 130-150.
People see 2000 calories on a nurtition label and think 'oh it won't hurt if I'm eating 2500 even though I work at/on computers for my job and have a more sedentary than average lifestyle' when in reality their caloric demand may be lower than 2000 and those extra 500+ calories DO hurt. Not to mention the % the FDA sets for calorie portion for carbs/sugars which can be very, very detrimental. Comparatively I believe other agencies around the world recommend far less carbs. Everyone do themselves a favor and stop drinking sugared beverages (soda, fruit drinks, high carb sports drinks if not doing high intensity sports, etc).
Fit chick pic for thread.
