Am I the only person who sees something wrong with private photos that were never intended for public consumption being distributed freely?
I don't know about you guys, but if I had nudes sitting somewhere that I thought was secure and some day they just magically showed up floating around the entire internet, I'd be fucking pissed and honestly feel rather violated. (Whether or not someone would actually want them is beside the point, because I know someone will try to use that argument with me.) This may be a discussion for another thread but honestly I'm not even remotely on board with calling this guy a hero or whatever people are saying. Even celebrities have the right to privacy and body autonomy. Sorry.
I don't think the guy's a hero, but I think that it's not smart keeping nude pictures of yourself in the cloud, even if it's supposed to be secure as fuck.
On the one hand, yes, we as a society should respect people's privacy. But on the other hand, it should be known that there is no such thing as secure when it comes to the internet. If you don't want them getting out, don't use your phone or upload them online. I grew up in the day when if you wanted to ensure private nude pics, you had to use a polaroid since you couldn't trust that the guy who developed the roll wouldn't make extras.
The kid is a hero to most pervs out there and could potentially be a hero for those who care about future data and cloud security, if there is an honest effort made to ensure better privacy(which is impossible to guarantee in this day and age). I don't expect more than a lawyer feeding-frenzy to come from the celebrities' demands, rather than use this as a catalyst for something good. I doubt JLaw or Kate are going to rally behind Kim Dotcom lol
Really, the nudes aren't a big deal to me and many adults who've seen them. Not because I think invasion of privacy is cool, but because naked pics of yourself shouldn't be a life-altering deal anyways. Celebs shouldn't be able to make a career off of nudes/sex tapes, but they should also not face any consequences for them either. This story will probably dominate the 24hr news cycle for the next week, god forbid another tragedy strikes in the world.

This I can agree with, sadly, we don't yet live in that world, and I'm sure there's plenty of slut-shaming going on right now, which is ridiculous. It would be slutty if they posted them publicly themselves, private photos though? Nothing slutty about that.
Also, I personally have stopped taking/sending nudes because of my chosen profession. I haven't graduated yet, but the last thing I need are any sort of sexy pictures getting anywhere in the hands of anyone on the school board or administration. Fair or not, that's a career ender for a teacher.
Wow lol
Motherfuckin this!
That these dumb bitches upload these pictures is their own damn fault. It's like they never learn from the shitload of women that went before them since internet started in the 90's. If you don't want any kind of shit to ever go public, never ever post it anywhere online. Once it is uploaded it is no longer yours and some kid will hack it sooner or later. Why? Because they can! This is always a question I ask myself before uploading any picture and I am not even a female and it's a question these bitches should have asked themselves too.
Meanwhile I am loving the entertainment this provides and the pictures. So thanks for that

Your opinion. And as usual, everyone disagrees with it. If you don't want pictures of your titties on the web, don't take pictures of your titties (especially with an online device and connecting the photo to the internet). For many of these celebs, comedic ones aside like Aubrey Plaza or artistic ones who can sing/dance/whatever, their ONLY talent that makes them famous is looking hot. Its literally their only reputable quality that has resulted in them being famous. Thats not to say they don't have other talents or reputable qualities, but they're not why they're famous. They're famous cause dudes fucking think they're hot as hell and they were dumb enough to put the very thing every dude wants (short of actually meeting and banging them) on the internet.
at least in the case of kate upton, it appears that it wasn't her phone that was hacked, it was the guy she was seeing, jason verlander... which checks out because chicks take flirty photos in the mirror and dudes photograph upclose vulva and cumshots and guess which there was more of?
as with all hacking I'm of the mind that this wouldn't happen with the scale and frequency it happens if somebody would just take security seriously. if putting jennifer lawrence's tits on the internet creates a demand that results in me one day not being afraid to leave my bluetooth on in a crowded place then so be it
Lack of Dr. House on the doctor chart made me sad.
