Seriously get off my dick, I am more than entitled to believe that just because it's out there doesn't make it right.

This is the internet, being malicious comes with it. "Hackers" being anonymous and whatnot makes the threshold very low to do malicious shit.
Do I find it ok that the stuff is shared so freely? No. Do I wish, like you said, that one person had the decency to stop it? Sure, but I also hope for peace in Israel and we both know that will never happen either.
Unintentionally is debatable since we don't know the details, but yes it is your fault. And I don't know what the bank laws are in your country, but the banks here actually tried to put the blame with us consumers when something went wrong with online banking. They even wanted to go so far that not having an antivirus program meant you were fucked for any compensation. The government put a stop to it and said it is the bank's responsibility. They save enough money from online banking instead of people going to a physical bank. Not to mention they borderline force you to online bank nowadays, because they can't do jackshit anymore in a physical bank building. If unintentionally putting something online means it is your fault and you deserve whatever happens, does that mean having your password stolen means you deserve whatever happens as result of that, because you should've know better than to have an online banking account? It really is a rather hilarious and indefensible position to take.
GL getting the government to pass laws to protect some cloud service. Let's not forget everything can be hacked online. What's it going to do after the photo's are out? Delete the photo's from the internet? GL with that. Damage has been done and nothing ever disappears from the internet.
Too much butt-hurt, not enough pics. Seriously go make thread for your complaints

I don't disagree with any of this. I'm disappointed by the seemingly overwhelming majority of people on the forums I visit simply being ok with this, but it isn't unexpected.
Unintentionally meaning the intent was not to make them publicly accessible. The difference between posting a photo on the wall in the cafeteria versus putting it in a safety deposit box. These cloud companies push the idea that your stuff is secure, but those who are more familiar with with software stacks involved know better. The average person was given a false sense of security. So they unintentionally put private things in a space were it was more vulnerable than they were led to believe. Basically, marketing.
Hah. No, I don't expect anything like that. I don't expect companies to stop marketing security as a feature, either. It would certainly be nice if there was more transparency about just how secure they are instead of buzzwords and brushing it under the rug, but there is a reason I encrypt my own stuff and don't put anything I don't want to be public in someone else's hands (and that reason is I'm not the average consumer).
What I thought Aks' point was (knowing that I opened this for images and not reading on Tapatalk) was that the idea that it is ok to share someone's private photos because a third party they entrusted it to was careless with it is terrible, regardless of whether you or I know better (and believe they should know better). As nice as it would be, I don't expect people to be better, especially on the internet.

I didn't see that thread so I can't really comment on that. But I assume that the pictures taken, regardless of who took the picture, were done with consent (monkeys notwithstanding, as they obviously can't consent). Consent doesn't give a blanket permission for other things. If I consent to a boyfriend taking my picture, I'm consenting for him to keep it for himself, not to him sharing them. I believe there are actually laws in place now for things like "revenge porn." It is nonconsensual if it is shared without permission.
I have nothing against people taking nudes and doing whatever they want with them, but I guarantee that "whatever they want" wasn't for them to spread like wildfire throughout the internet. Just because the door is unlocked doesn't mean it's okay to enter and take whatever you want.
Sure is soapbox in here.

I did. I searched for video and only found that other image instead.

It may not be what they want, but anything you put online is at risk of getting distributed. I may be wrong as I don't have an apple product, but doesn't pictures you take on your iphone now automatically go onto your icloud account? Ignorance is not an excuse. Not condoning the leak, but as others have said, if you put it on the internet, you are putting yourself at risk of having it exposed. Sucks but they all knew the dangers. Hell this shit has been ongoing since Paris Hilton got hacked cause her dumb ass used her dogs name as her security password, and people still haven't gotten smart about internet security.
It really shouldn't be a surprise when the majority of the people on the internet aren't condemning the people who actually stole the files and distributed them online but are actually wagging their fingers at people who had their photos stolen and are just saying "You should have known better, it's your own fault". The internet is full of shitheads after all. It doesn't take long to realize that.
I'm not saying you have to be sympathetic towards the people who had their privacy exposed online. But considering very few have said "this shouldn't have happened in the first place" is pretty appalling.
I think my issue is that people are trying to call it a sex crime. I'm so2I just don't agree with that. Had someone on FB post that if anyone they know looked just defined them because we are disgusting people they want nothing to do with. A bit extreme I would say..
While I agree it's a breach of privacy, as stated over and over you know the risks of taking those pics, so if you allow it be prepared for anything. Especially in today's digital age and rampant hacking it's almost more of when than if. I just don't see it on the same level as other crimes. I'm not saying it's necessarily right that it happened to anyone but it's a valid risk we take storing anything online.
I'm not condoning the hacking but think that you need to acknowledge taking nude photographs of yourself could compromise your image (public figures), e.g. these celebrities, Brett Favre, Anthony Wiener. If only we didn't care so much about impropriety and perpetuate that sex is horrible and must shield innocent eyes from corrupting influence.
I don't think anyone is arguing about the fact that what happened is wrong. It's more of a question of why even have compromising photos and videos on the cloud in the first place? It's one thing to have these on your hard drive at your home, but the fact that these were stored in the cloud and hosted by a 3rd party who they had zero control over is what people are pointing out.
I come to this thread for random images, not to read!
On that note.. Random images!

The comments are pure gold.
The hacker is an asshole.
Apple's security sucks.
Bitches are dumb for allowing nudes to reach the internet.
These statements are not mutually exclusive. They can be (and are) all true. Removing any of these factors would have prevented this.
I don't see what the debate is even about.
