All i have to say is fuck you guys talking about not being able to gain weight. I was fat all my life, and it takes a lot of work just to keep my weight in check.

To keep my weight i have to stay around 1700 cals, while working out at least an hour a day (Not sundays). Any more than that and i watch that scale tip fast (By fast i mean, i went on a 5 day vacation. I didn't pig out, but i didn't watch my cal intake ether. Came back 14 pounds heavier, which shouldn't be fucking possible.)

To lose weight i have to drop around 1000, to 1200 cals..... shit fucking sucks.

I think at least on here, we are a bit more open minded to weight as a lot of people participate in the workout thread. I don't care if someone is fat. I do care that society wants people to think it's normal, healthy, common, etc. Those models let fat people think it's ok. People that say they're happy being fat have either never been skinny or can't remember being skinny. Not being out of breath getting up is super awesome compared to a donut.

I don't think that's it per se, but if you're fat, regardless of whether you want to be that way or not, it's nice to see someone that represents you on the pages of a magazine or on the internet. Clothes aren't designed with fat people in mind. (Look at "one size fits all" stuff, for example.) So when you see something and you're overweight, you think, "Oh, that's super cute!" Then you go to the store and either they don't even have it in your size with absolutely no equivalent, or when you try it on, it looks absolutely terrible. Even plus size clothes often aren't shaped around bigger bodies. Plus size is considered a size 10 - I can tell you right now I'm above that. So even the plus size models don't represent bigger women. (And let's not mention that sizing varies across brands and I wear about 4 different pants sizes right now which is frustrating as fuck and why I hate shopping.)

So yes, while I actively dislike the fact that I have gained a lot of weight after having had my kids, and while I do at least make an attempt to eat healthy and be somewhat active, it it is frustrating to look on TV or in magazines and think, "Oh, how cute," then realize they're not going to have that in my size. That model is a lot bigger than I am but I look at the lingerie she's wearing and I'm like, "Wow. Bras for people with larger cups that aren't just fucking white or beige." (Seriously.) And I also think, cool. She has such confidence in herself. I could never stand in front of a photographer in underwear/bikini and bare all of my unsightly bits. And I'm not sure I'd call it glorification, but it's nice to see cute clothes in bigger sizes. When I can put on something cute I can look in the mirror and not hate what I see, which is a thing that bigger girls do. And when I like my body I am more inclined to care for my body. Does that make sense?

Obviously I don't represent every larger girl on the planet, and I waver between calling myself thick and fat on the regular, depends on the mood. But where people see "glorification" or whatever it is, I'm seeing representation, and less frustration when I go shopping. Double because I'm short, and for some reason, they don't like to dress short people, either.

Off the rack clothing never fits anyone but the mannequin. Kinda works the same for guys with any sort of muscular build. Curlbros risk losing their arms from their polo shirts cutting off circulation and squatters make pants impossible to fit right. Good tailors/seamers are uncommon to find but worth their weight in gold.

How I love my genes. First year university my diet consisted of fast food and a 12pack of Pepsi/Coke everyday. Didn't get much sleep (class material and WoW).
