Depending on how big your FC is or how active they are with chocobo training, you're going to get a lot of millage out of the brooms. We cleaned ours and it took 75+ (no exact number) training sessions for it to go from good to fair. For what it's worth, clean stables give 1% exp per training session. 2 per hour means you can get a level every couple days if you have enough carrots and really keep at it.

That can't be right. I bought our first broom around 24 hours after we got our stable, and our stable condition was Poor.

On Sunday it was Fair. And our FC is hardly hardcore. Honestly I doubt we had gotten more than 10 training sessions total before I got the broom.

Maybe it's time based then? I didn't even think to track that, and just assumed it would be based on the number of times it was used.

That would make sense, but then it could be a function of how many bird-poop-hours you incur. Example: Assume the stable bird-poop-hour capacity is 120 units of bird poop. A stable with 15 birds pooping every hour will exhaust the poop storage capacity in 8 hours. A stable with 5 birds pooping every hour will exhaust the same capacity in 24 hours. Maybe training your bird means it poops somewhere else for an hour. Then it'd be kinda counter-intuitive - train your birds as much as possible so they poop somewhere else.

Finally whittling away at all the fieldcraft materia I"ve needed for all the new synths. Just have a couple LTW recipes left to HQ and I'll be fully pimped out in all that, and...get to work on Fieldcraft III's. RIP my wallet.

It makes sense though. The only issue I see is that we only have 5-6 in ours at any given time and we still go from good to fair in a couple of days max. What would happen to those mega FCs that have hundreds of members on during the day? They would need to clean it every couple of hours.

yup, if you got botany and cooking geared up, you can pump out those artistan glasses for desynth constantly like a machine O_o

randomly, if you hope for a miracle, you can get up to 3 mastercraft materia (from 1 desynth) from the 50 HQ tools via blacksmithing

So the thing where you can see random retainers out gathering stuff, a FCmate saw someone's and I had to confirm.

You can't even fish from Wolves Den Pier, what is this.

Don't think that's a retainer. That NPC has been there since Wolves' Den Pier was released I'm pretty sure

I remember seeing it while spending my Marks pre 2.3
