The actual definition of the word is "something that people think is inhabited by a god". This can also mean this kind of tree commonly found at shinto shrines (it usually has a rope or other sacred object tied around it). But the Japanese says the corpses are offered up AS this sort of sacred vessel. Jeez I translated it for you and you still go for google translate

It has to be something easy to achieve by chance because it popped on day 2 of the patch without anybody actively trying to spawn it. It could still be player deaths, humanoids killed, or FATEs done during the entire new moon cycle and we just couldn't get enough credit to pop it on the first night.

fwiw, it appears to have a white outline on the waning side of the moon. possibly new moon refers to first phase waxing? Our best guess since no server has seen it yet.

Zona Seeker just spawned in western thanalan. Exodus, 2:09pm. IDK how he was spawned but he killed more than any other S rank lol. He does a huge plague aoe that cannot be dodged and it hits ridiculously hard. Coords were 22, 24
