Do most of you run hunts with your fcs, or some other static arrangement? I seem to be completely incapable of finding a hunt LS on Balmung that isn't just a bunch of people complaining about how no one waits with no real hunting going on. I've spent the last few days just rolling the dice on PF hunt groups in hopes of accidentally finding competent people.

I mean this as a question, though I suppose it's coming out as a random complaint. :/

I run whenever there's a fair amount of people running in my FC all in a party together. I don't have a hunt LS, nor do I run radar, so I just try to mooch of people I know whenever I can. I run around and try to help in between hunts, but I've only ever been the first to locate one B rank, and one S rank.

So far I've hunted on a whopping two days since the patch came out. Let it not be said that RNGesus doesn't smile down upon me though, because I've netted 3 log drops and 1250 seals in that short time.

As far as Balmung goes, your best bet is to find a hunt LS and/or join party finder if your FC isn't running around in a group... which probably applies for most servers, actually.

Vast majority of hunt LSes blow. A handful are done well but are pretty exclusive in who they invite. I just PF hunt parties, hang around for a couple of hours, and jot down the handful of players who are really solid. Next time I just reach out directly to some of the growing list of non-fail people, or roll the dice on another PF group if they're busy / not on. Works fairly well. I use radar and think I contribute a lot to parties; that said, there's no skill in running in circles and having a spam-for-credit rotation ready. Really, just paying attention and having a macro for A and S ranks ("A Rank Elite Mark Spotted! <pos> <se.2>") is enough for me. Drives me crazy when some space cadet is like:

Space Cadet: pop
Everyone: Where? What rank?
15 seconds goes by
SC: S Than
Everyone teles
Random non-fail PT member: It's a B...and it's dead

PF groups can be really good since you will have access to more Hunt LSs. The more information you have access to the better your time will be spent.

Behemoth is a cluster fuck for Hunts (apparently the cool kids pull early so they can shout about their awesome pull skills) but if you get the right members in your group it can still be productive.

for those who are having trouble with hunts, if you are a little proactive you can get something really good going.

on my server people regularly advertise for multi-pt hunts that are coordinated over voice chat. so if you're in a LS, just advertise it. if you see a hunt pt near full in PF, make your own and ask the leader if they wanna coordinate over voice. once people realize the benefit to it you can hit tons of B's, most A's and every single S rank over and over. and if you're doing this without LS help you can really just make your own LS with the intent in mind.

I find PF groups to be a bit shit. There's always a few leachers in the group who teleport with you and just sit at the aetheryte until the next hunt is called. You can't see their dot on the map because it's hidden behind other icons but you know they're there because they're nowhere else. I do join the groups but most of the time I'm one of two or three people in the group listing hunts, mostly that come from LSs. The group is more for getting credit on them.

On Excalibur there's a group with a huge TS server and 7 LSs where literally everyone who wants to hunt is invited and a public (though not for editing) spreadsheet for ToD that stays pretty accurate. And it's administered well. Idk how long those admins will keep it up, but that's the way to do it.

Punching Bag provides all of Midgardsormr's whiny bitching, no need for Reddit. I don't think that guy has yet to not whine or complain about obeying some ridiculously stupid pull times/anything he can possibly find to nerd rage over.

To add to this, they encourage inviting the random small parties or soloers you find at a mark that aren't part of the massive Horde. Some serious "One of us, one of us..." shit going on.

Edit: Bonnacon respawned at 12:36am EST during the leek window. I don't know if anyone was gathering the leeks, however one of the guys looking over spawn data did have a theory that it would spawn at that time and lo & behold he did. All these maintenances are kinda fucking up our understanding of the S ranks though since we can't get solid respawn data.

Punching Bag = Remi Oc. He hates my FC with a passion and blames us for every pull that a <<CR>> tag is at even if we didn't get credit cause we got there late. (Probably upset that we denied his application more than once...)

and seem someone was right, when windows hit 72 hour, it seem force spawn no matter what. Also fulfilling the conditions doesnt mean it pop right away, it just increases pop chance every "window"

Free login also fell on a weekend, the weekend prior was pretty jam packed as well for hunts. I think you can see the trend that is starting to build.

Pretty sure there was someone. In TS the leaders constantly encourage ppl to try spawning S ranks in different zones. Kinda funny to see hordes of ppl commit collective suicide in South Shroud or jump from cliffs in Coerthas.
