I'm on excalibur and have been doing this since update. I keep my party full just by inviting people who are shouting, I'm about to buy my 5th twine and I don't even no life it. I have work, family, and coil, but when I actually want to hunt I go to the zones and am actively a part of it. I make it to every S that pops and probably 90%-95% of the A's that pop.

Mobs are pulled fast, they die fast, but you all over exaggerate a bit on how "impossible" this all is considering I've farmed almost 15k seals in 5ish days.

Edit: My party usually is 6-8 people, most of which are DD's. We still get full credit even with all the morons i invite that are on SMN/BRD.

whats pulled fast for you? because the moment you find the mob and announce it in your FC the clock ticks for 1-3 min depending on location (sometimes even less then 1 min) until its pulled and then 10 sec fight time. I have literally arrived too late on A mobs that spawned in the same area i was looking for them (and no i wasnt on the other end of the area)

Dalvag just spawned and was dead 71 seconds later, that was a bit quicker than normal but not by too much. Fight maybe lasted 12-15 sec.

If a mob spawns far out like Melt it's probably alive for 3min.

If someone only has one job then that's fine, quite a few people just choose to hunt on their mains though when it would be much better to be on something like whm spamming cure3/medica, even if you're naked.

There is zero reason to go anything but tank or healer if you have them leveled (and I main BRD). Hunt credit is based off of enmity and going as DD not only makes it harder for you to get full credit but actually is detrimental for people lagging behind since you'll be killing it that much faster when on a DPS.

And Stan gimping GW for 12 hours was the worst change I've ever seen, which is probably why it was rolled back so quickly. I have no idea how Excalibur compares to Gilgamesh on hunts, but tonight marks have been dying about a minute after they've been called (pull -> dead is typically 15~ seconds).

Best ffxi example for my server would be the fellow quest. Line to outside the zone from the ???. Oddly xi being far more competitive had far more polite people on my server. No clue why but ya shits odd to think about.

I almost never do hunts because of early pulls, still have a ls or two for s ranks if I feel like it.

I think it just stems from more people on each server. Odds of assholes showing up just goes up.

My only experience with queue lines in xi was abyssea, which turned into a game of launch windower 3.1 with all seeing eye and just spam macro on a spot that no one would have a chance to even pop the monster at.

I've been getting full credit on nearly every A rank I've been to all weekend simply porting as soon as I get the <pos> for it. I don't even start with a party and just form one on the way to the mark. As far as early pulling, deal with it seriously. If I can't see the fucking mob cause it keeps disappearing from view, there's already "enough" people there. Be happy people are even sharing or Hunt TS/GW exists to call it out.

Hey don't stomp on my lazy SMN play. It takes a lot of work to get to those hunts on time. Right after you summon him you swap back into INT. You just can't use spur, but you get the benefit of a 13k HP egi for taking screen shots.
