While the ceasefire occurred a few days before the inauguration, it happened because Trump's middle-east envoy Steve Witkoff pushed Netanyahu into accepting it.

the war had been drawing down for months as there were no longer feasible tactical objectives for the Israelis to achieve, and their seemingly desired strategic objective (a widespread ethnic cleaning that leaves them with sole possession of their ancient borders) would not be tolerated by the world. decent possibility the wait-and-see attitude towards the American election and concomitant regime change prolonged rather than shortened the war. Netanyahu was talking about 'the beginning of the end of the war' back in October and the November ceasefire with Lebanon indicated Israel was looking to wind er down.

either way though Americans love overemphasizing their importance in foreign affairs Biden and/or Trump had relatively little to do with the end of the fighting. wasn't much reason for Israel to be at war much longer and Hamas had been seeking an end to the fighting for some time. that said, Witkoff did good work exerting pressure on a wavering Netanyahu to accept the deal as is.
