Israel still conducting airstrikes
Israel still conducting airstrikes
Turns out they forgot to account for daylight savings time and a few whoopsie missiles were fired off still. Won't happen again, pinky swear
my dear boys yall ain't the biggest readers eh, the ceasefire calls for the fighting to cease within 24 hours after signing (which has not happened yet). the Israeli gov is currently meeting as we type to vote on approving the ceasefire and give their diplomats the ok to put ink down. their foreign minister publicly said the IDF will stand down immediately after the signing rather than in 24 hours but we'll see.
Idgi, what makes people think this cease fire is any different?

does that mean someone in there's gaming and trying to min/max the genocide before the ceasefire comes through?
What would Israel do if they didn't have hostages that they aren't doing now?
We may find out?
I mean tanks were firing on Gaza citizens so
Y'all are wild for thinking Trump deserves a Nobel Peace Prize if this deal actually works. It ignores all the other shit he is doing on American soil, the saber rattling over Greenland and Canada, and the "trust me bro" bombing of Venezuelan fishing boats.
I think any mention of Trump deserving or receiving the Nobel Peace Prize in this thread have been done so sarcastically/jokingly I'm fairly certain.
Of course he didn't deserve a Nobel wtf lol
Obama didn't deserve his either, and said as much himself. No US President since fucking Lincoln deserved one at any point in time.
I'd say Carter mostly earned his but he got it long after he was President.
Most definitely gaslit myself from reading shit today and lumped y'all in the mix with those saying he should get it if he manages to end the atrocities committed by Israel and getting Russia to end the war.
Nobel Peace Prize is generally speaking an absolute joke, worst of the awards they give
It's a solid piece of gold though

I would be fine if The Carter Center got a Nobel, and they still can. Not so much Jimmy himself. Jimmy would likely have agreed with me. He's the face for obvious reasons but there are a lot of other people involved in TCC that helped with their humanitarian effort over the decades. The organization deserves it more than one man.
edit: Jimmy got one in '02, forgot. My opinion still stands. I think TCC should have gotten it.
hostages/prisoners fully released by both sides, everyone holding up to their side of the ceasefire thus far. hammering out a lasting peace is next and maybe harder but by far the biggest steps taken thus far in a permanent end to the fighting.
of course very likely nothing will be done to permanently address the underlying injustice that spawned Hamas's attack but
