oh i remember u, luv u boo
I honestly do wonder how my views have evolved over the years. I could probably spend $10 in tokens and get a facially plausible analysis out of an LLM.
looks like the older Israel/Palestine thread is gone
it's from 2008
the oldest one I could find in my personal comment history is this from 2012
https://www.bluegartr.com/threads/10...In-These-Parts
and my comment history only goes back to 2012 i think - so 4 years worth of comments/posts are missing
so mods maybe have the original Israel/Palestine thread archived, im guessing
also kuya's been gone for 4 years?
Looks like I call Netenyahu "the Jewish Putin" pretty early in this thread, so my opinions haven't changed too much. My posting rate was way too high back then, though. Damn dude (me) you must have been miserable in grad school.
I think my views on other stuff have changed, though
i'm glad seeing my first post in this thread end with
age bitterly having seen Israel attempt a military solution for the 10 years after it, eventuating in the worst terrorist attack in their country's history, and their subsequent reaction of maximalizing a genocidal military response in the past 2 years.there is no possible military solution for the Palestinian problem.
glad is the wrong word
It's not revisionist.
People constantly gave me shit for talking about Israel and accused me of bringing it up out of nowhere.
Before this political sub-section was created, posts about news/politics were in the general section.
So some of these people claimed I was flooding general - but we didn't have anywhere else to put these.
Sometimes it may have seemed like I was bringing it out of nowhere - but if you read those original threads, it was organic. Other people brought up something about Iraq or Israel too.
I might be misremembering and conflating my opposition to the Iraq War and the negative responses I got from that, with my opposition to Israel.
These 2 users acknowledging, at the time, the kind of atmosphere I was posting in:
Apologies to Tymon, I think I confused tymon with tyvven, who i remember instigating shit with me because I was very critical of the Iraq War in addition to Israel
Not sure what this is supposed to mean
Oh, that quoted user was a troll and mocked civilian deaths in Iraq, when I was posting about it
User claiming there weren't enough positive stories of our troops in Iraq/Afghanistan:
Etc. etc.
Nobody misses Perm.
