I for one know the appropriate response when an opposing government launches rockets at me is to continue to take and colonize the land of Innocents while destroying their schools and hospitals and killing their children because it absolutely won't exacerbate the problem at all.

The powers that be are propping up the Israeli government and military. Like Netanyahu is corrupt as fuck but all the first world governments keep sending him weapons and money while they have a literal stranglehold on Palestinian populated areas.

exempli gratia on one hand you may say yes Israel sucks, but on the other you are pointing to the Iraq War as a reason to undermine American criticism of Israel. which is, of course, a logical fallacy, and also very strange given the vast majority of people here bitterly opposed the Iraq War and heaped mountains of vitriol onto our politicians that pursued it.

I was not the one to bring up the Iraq war first. People brought it up as a defense that the US is not like Isreal. I pointed out that yeah we are just as bad.

And yeah I am going to bring Hamas up because I see no end BECAUSE of it. Not because I think Israel is doing the right thing.

Ive already said Israel should give em citizenship and equal rights, or their own state. Y'all can pretend anyone in this thread has said otherwise, but go off king. You can choose to believe the IDF or not when they say they neutralized tunnels and areas where Hamas was operating out of.

and i treat with extreme skepticism any military reporting on its own actions, especially when they are controversial. some of what they are reporting is undoubtedly true, some will be lies or exaggerations. citations needed.

so to avoid the circle jerk of everyone agreeing Israel is behaving badly, which not everyone in this thread was agreeing on, you want to us to talk about Hamas being bad, which everyone agrees on.

but uh yeah there are a lot of threads where people agree. if this is mostly devil's advocacy fine then. i believe you dislike the Israeli government's actions, but you were spending a lot of time in this thread both sidesing the issue and did indeed imply there was a surplus of Hamas supporters here with the only evidence being criticism of Israel.

I mean, I didn’t see Hamas mentioned until I piped up. I have to wonder if everyone knew the conflict between Hamas and Fatah to begin with, as I doubt. There were those coming in mentioning they didn’t understand what was going on over there.

And reality is too often media just says “Isreal” and “Palestine” without mentioning Hamas/Fatah at all.
