also did some research and saw in the exit polling for those elections that 80% supported a lasting peace agreement with Israel and 70% wanted Hamas to change its policy towards Israel. reason they went for Hamas was overwhelmingly because they were seen as less corrupt than Fatah + Pallies believed internal security within the Palestinian territories (which was/is very bad) would be improved. also overwhelmingly wanted a unity government between Fatah and Hamas.

Being reported that there is currently a cease fire by the Israeli military on attacking southern Gaza to allow more people to flee. The Israeli communities around the northern Gaza border are being evacuated to make way for a ground assault.

Edit: the US and Egypt brokered the cease fire.

Bombing the heck out of the area, via air strikes or artillery.

It's from Churchill, describing Nazi air raids....cities so destroyed that further bombs would only make the rubble jump in the air. Nothing left to destroy before sending in troops.
